Theme for the Day: Are You Getting Enough Rest?
Season Theme: Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ
Readings: Matthew 11:25-30

Are you getting enough rest?

In a world that constantly asks us to do more, move faster, and carry heavier burdens, Jesus offers a different invitation. In Matthew's Gospel, He says, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

This is more than a suggestion. It is a promise.

When life becomes overwhelming, when responsibilities pile up, when worry and stress begin to weigh us down, Jesus invites us to come away with Him for a while. He invites us to cast our burdens upon Him, to trust the One who willingly takes on our struggles, and to find rest that goes deeper than a good night's sleep.

As we continue our summer theme, we are reminded that God's grace often comes like a gentle breeze, calming anxious hearts, renewing weary spirits, and restoring our strength for the journey ahead.

Real rest is found not in escaping life's challenges, but in walking with the One who promises to carry them with us.

Theme for the Day: Deeply Rooted In Grace!
Season Theme: Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ
Readings: Matthew 13:1-9, 18-23

As we begin a new week of Vacation Bible School, we gather around one of Jesus' most familiar and powerful teachings: The Parable of the Sower.

In Matthew 13, Jesus reminds us that God's Word is like seed scattered generously across every kind of soil. Some seeds struggle to take root. Others are crowded out by the worries and distractions of life. But some fall on good soil and produce an abundant harvest.

The good news is that God never stops sowing. Every day, the Sower continues to plant seeds of grace, hope, faith, and love in our lives. Through the gentle breeze of the Holy Spirit, God prepares our hearts, nurtures our faith, and helps us grow deeper roots than we ever imagined possible.

As Vacation Bible School begins, we celebrate the ways God is planting seeds in the lives of children, families, and all who gather in faith. Together, we trust that God's grace is at work, helping us grow, flourish, and bear fruit for the kingdom.

Sunday, July 19, 2026 – The Eighth Sunday After Pentecost

Theme for the Day: Kind Of Risky!
Season Theme: Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ
Readings: Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43

Life is full of risks. Some are small and everyday. Others can feel much bigger. We often want certainty, quick solutions, and clear answers.

In the Parable of the Weeds, Jesus tells a story that may seem surprising. As weeds grow among the wheat, the servants want to pull them up immediately. Yet the master tells them to wait. It seems risky. Why allow the weeds to remain? Why not remove them right away?

Through this parable, Jesus reminds us that God sees a bigger picture than we do. God's patience, mercy, and grace are at work even when we cannot fully understand what is happening around us. The Lord continues to nurture the good, care for the harvest, and guide all things according to His purpose.

As we continue our summer theme, we are invited to feel the gentle breeze of God's Spirit moving among us. When life feels uncertain, when questions remain unanswered, and when challenges continue to grow around us, we can trust the One who takes every risk necessary to save us.

In Jesus Christ, God's grace reaches into the messiness of life, bringing hope, healing, and the promise of a harvest yet to come.

Theme for the Day: The Value Keeps Going Up!
Season Theme: Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ
Readings: Matthew 13:31-33, 44-52

What is truly valuable? What is worth holding onto no matter what?

In this week's Gospel, Jesus shares several parables about the Kingdom of Heaven, including the treasure hidden in a field and the pearl of great value. Using things people treasured in everyday life, Jesus reveals something even greater: the priceless value of God's kingdom and God's grace.

The treasure and the pearl are worth everything because they point us to the love of God in Christ. This love is not meant to be merely one important part of our lives. It is meant to be everything to us. It is the gift that transforms how we see ourselves, our neighbors, and the world around us.

As we celebrate Vacation Bible School Week, we also celebrate the seeds of faith planted throughout the week in the lives of children, families, volunteers, and our congregation. Through every song, lesson, craft, and act of kindness, God's kingdom has been made known in fresh and joyful ways.

As the gentle breeze of the Holy Spirit continues to move among us, we are reminded of another amazing truth: God places priceless value on each and every one of us. We are loved, treasured, and claimed by grace.

Sunday, June 28, 2026 – The Fifth Sunday After Pentecost

Theme for the Day: You Are Welcome, Really Welcome…!
Season Theme: Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ
Readings: Matthew 10:40-42

What does it mean to be truly welcome? Not simply invited. Not merely tolerated. But genuinely welcomed, valued, and given a place to belong.

In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus reminds His followers that even the smallest acts of hospitality matter in God's kingdom. A welcome offered in His name becomes a blessing. A cup of cold water shared in love becomes an expression of grace.

This promise points us to the heart of the Gospel. In Christ, there is room for everyone. We are welcomed not because we have earned a place, but because God has made a place for us. Through the gentle breeze of God's grace, we are invited into a relationship of love, mercy, and belonging.

This Sunday, we will also share Holy Communion in the Memorial Garden, gathering outdoors to celebrate God's presence among us and to remember that we are part of a community that stretches across generations, united in Christ's love.

Whether you have been here for years or are joining us for the first time, know this: you are welcome. Really welcome.

Theme for the Day: Overcoming Every Fear, As A Gentle Breeze Blows!
Season Theme: Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ
Readings: Matthew 10:24-39

Fear is something we all experience. We worry about the future. We question our decisions. We wonder how things will turn out. At times, fear can feel larger than our faith.

In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus speaks directly to those fears. Again and again, He tells His followers, “Do not be afraid.” These words are not a promise that life will be free from challenges. Rather, they are a reminder that God is present in every challenge, every uncertainty, and every question we face.

As we continue our summer theme, we are invited to feel the gentle breeze of God's grace moving through our lives. The same God who knows us completely, who counts even the hairs on our heads, walks beside us through every season. We do not face life's struggles alone.

On this Father's Day Weekend, we also give thanks for those who have encouraged, guided, protected, and supported us through life's journey. Their care reminds us of God's steadfast presence and love.

Whatever fears or doubts we carry, Christ meets us with courage, comfort, and hope. The gentle breeze of God's grace continues to blow, reminding us to trust the One who is always with us.

Theme for the Day: All With God’s Grace, Thanks To A Gentle Breeze!
Season Theme: Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ
Readings: Matthew 9:35-10:8

There is always more to do. More places to go. More people to see. More opportunities to serve. At times, the needs around us can feel overwhelming.

In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus looks upon the crowds with compassion and reminds His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” Yet Jesus does not leave His followers to carry the work alone. He calls them, equips them, and sends them with everything they need.

The same is true for us. God never asks us to walk alone. Through the presence of Christ and the gentle breeze of the Holy Spirit, we are given strength for the journey, courage for the calling, and grace for each new day.

As we continue our summer theme, we are reminded that God's Spirit is constantly moving among us, refreshing, encouraging, and guiding us. There is much to do in God's kingdom, but there is also all the help we will ever need.

Readings:
Hosea 5:15-6:6; Romans 4:13-25; Matthew 9:9-13, 18-26

As we continue our summer journey of Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ, we are reminded that God's grace comes to us not only in dramatic moments, but also through His steady, healing presence.

In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus calls Matthew to follow Him, shares a meal with those others would reject, heals a woman who had suffered for years, and raises a young girl to new life. Again and again, Jesus brings restoration, hope, and healing wherever He goes. He reminds us that God's mercy is greater than our brokenness and that His grace continues to make us whole.

The readings from Hosea and Romans echo this same promise. God binds up what is wounded, revives what seems lost, and fulfills His promises through faith and grace. Even when life feels uncertain, God's healing touch remains near.

As we gather in worship, may we feel the gentle breeze of God's Spirit moving among us, restoring our hearts, renewing our faith, and reminding us that we are never beyond the reach of His love.

Theme for the Day: Alive To Talk, Right Here
Season Theme: Celebrating God’s Grace Alive, Right Here, In The Risen Christ
Readings: John 17:1-11

On this Seventh Sunday of Easter, we hear a powerful and intimate moment in John’s Gospel as Jesus prays on behalf of His disciples. In this prayer, we are reminded that we are never alone. The Risen Christ continues to speak to the Father for us, lifting us up, holding us close, and guiding us in grace.

This is the gift of prayer. Not just that we talk to God, but that Jesus is already speaking on our behalf. In every moment, in every season, in every joy and challenge, we are connected to God through a living relationship rooted in grace and love.

This Sunday, we also celebrate Graduation Recognition Sunday, giving thanks for those who are marking a milestone and stepping into a new chapter. As graduates look ahead, we trust that Christ goes with them, prays for them, and remains present in every step forward.

Theme for the Day: Alive In Faith, Right Here
Season Theme: Celebrating God’s Grace Alive, Right Here, In The Risen Christ
Readings: John 14:15-21

On this Sixth Sunday of Easter, we hear Jesus’ promise to His disciples that they will not be left alone. As He prepares to ascend, He assures them that God will send an Advocate, The Holy Spirit, to be with them always.

In John 14, Jesus speaks words of comfort and assurance: we are not abandoned. We are not left to figure things out on our own. The Holy Spirit comes to guide, to strengthen, and to remind us of God’s presence in every moment.

This promise is what allows us to live by faith. Not a distant or uncertain faith, but a living, active faith grounded in the presence of God with us, right here.

As we observe Mother’s Day Weekend, we also give thanks for those who have nurtured faith in our lives, who have guided, encouraged, and supported us along the way. Their care reflects the presence of the One who continues to lead us in love and grace.

Theme for the Day: Alive In A Perfect Place, Right Here
Season Theme: Celebrating God’s Grace Alive, Right Here, In The Risen Christ
Readings: John 14:1-14

On this Fifth Sunday of Easter, we hear the comforting and powerful words of Jesus: “I am the way, and the truth, and the life.” In a world that often feels uncertain or unsettled, these words anchor us in a promise that is steady, personal, and full of grace.

Jesus speaks to disciples who are anxious and unsure of what lies ahead. He reminds them, and us, that we are not lost. We are not alone. In Him, we already have a place. A perfect place. Not because everything around us is perfect, but because Christ Himself is present, leading us, guiding us, and holding us in truth and life.

This Easter season continues to remind us that the Risen Christ is not distant. He is right here. Making a way where there seems to be none. Speaking truth into our lives. Giving life that is full, lasting, and secure.

Theme for the Day: Led Right Here, In Power And Grace
Season Theme: Celebrating God’s Grace Alive, Right Here, In The Risen Christ
Readings: John 10:1-10

On this Fourth Sunday of Easter, we hear the comforting and powerful words of Jesus as The Good Shepherd. In John 10, Jesus reminds us that He knows His sheep, calls them by name, and leads them with care, protection, and purpose.

In a world full of noise and competing voices, the voice of the Shepherd stands apart. It is a voice of truth. A voice of grace. A voice that leads us not into fear, but into life. Jesus does not drive us forward. He walks ahead of us, guiding us, calling us, and leading us right where we need to be.

This Sunday also falls on Mother’s Day, a time to give thanks for those who have nurtured, guided, and cared for us with love. As we celebrate, we remember that the love we share and receive is a reflection of the Good Shepherd’s care for each of us.

Theme for the Day: Filled To Overflowing, Right Here
Season Theme: Celebrating God’s Grace Alive, Right Here, In The Risen Christ
Readings: Luke 24:13-35

On this Third Sunday of Easter, we continue to celebrate the living presence of the Risen Christ, revealed to us in powerful and unexpected ways. In Luke’s Gospel, Jesus meets the disciples on the road to Emmaus, walking with them in their confusion and uncertainty, opening the Scriptures, and finally being made known to them in the breaking of the bread.

In that moment, everything changes. Hearts burn. Eyes are opened. Hope is restored. What once felt empty is now filled to overflowing.

This is the promise of Easter. Christ comes to us right where we are, walks with us in every season, and reveals Himself in Word and at the table. In His presence, we are filled with grace, with hope, with life that overflows into the world around us.

Acts 2:14a, 22-32; 1 Peter 1:3-9; John 20:19-31

On this Second Sunday of Easter, we continue to celebrate the good news that Christ is risen and alive among us. The resurrection is not just something we remember. It is something we live.

In John’s Gospel, the disciples are gathered behind locked doors, filled with fear and uncertainty, when Jesus comes and stands among them, speaking the words we long to hear: “Peace be with you.” Even in doubt, even in fear, even in uncertainty, Christ meets us with grace.

This is living peace. A peace that breaks into our worry. A peace that calms our hearts. A peace that reminds us we are not alone.

Sunday, April 5, 2026 – Easter Sunday

Theme for the Day: He Is Not Here, He Is Risen
Season Theme: Seven Simple, Powerful Words Of God’s Grace In Jesus Christ
Readings: Acts 10:34-43; Matthew 28:1-10

Christ is risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia.

On Easter morning, we gather in joy and celebration as we proclaim the good news of the resurrection. The tomb is empty. Death is defeated. The promise is fulfilled.

In Matthew’s Gospel, the women are met with astonishing words: “He is not here; for he has been raised.” Fear turns to wonder. Grief turns to joy. Mary is greeted and called by name. The disciples believe. New life begins.

In Acts, we hear the bold proclamation that Jesus Christ is Lord of all, raised on the third day, bringing forgiveness and salvation to all who believe.

As we return to the Lord with all our heart, we celebrate the One who is gracious and merciful. The Risen Christ raises us up each and every day with an Easter heart, alive in hope, alive in grace, alive in love.

Worship Highlights:

On Maundy Thursday, we gather to remember the night Jesus shared the Last Supper with His disciples, washed their feet, and gave a new commandment: “Love one another as I have loved you.”

Theme for the Day: It Is Finished, It Is Now Begun
Season Theme: Seven Simple, Powerful Words Of God’s Grace In Jesus Christ
Readings: Philippians 2:5-11; Matthew 21:1-11; Matthew 27:11-54; John 19:30

Palm Sunday begins with shouts of “Hosanna” as Jesus enters Jerusalem in humility and peace. Yet the cries of praise soon give way to the solemn events of His passion, suffering, and crucifixion.

On this holy day, we walk the full journey from triumph to the cross. We hear again the words from John’s Gospel, “It is finished,” and we recognize that in Christ’s surrender, something eternal is accomplished. Sin is overcome. Death is defeated. Grace is poured out in full.

And yet, what is finished on the cross is also the beginning of something new. In the humility described in Philippians, in the obedience of Christ, in the love that holds fast even unto death, we see the heart of God revealed. A passionate heart that does not turn away. A merciful heart that remains fixed on us.

As Holy Week begins, we are invited to return to the Lord with all our heart. In the One who gave everything, we are blessed and reassured. What was finished in love now begins anew in grace.

Worship Highlights:

  • Procession of Palms: Children can begin lining up at 9:25 for the Palm Procession as part of worship.

Sunday, March 22, 2026 – The Fifth Sunday In Lent

Theme for the Day: A Thirst Quenched
Season Theme: Seven Simple, Powerful Words Of God’s Grace In Jesus Christ
Readings: Ezekiel 37:1-14; Romans 8:6-11; John 11:1-45

This Sunday we continue our Lenten journey reflecting on one of the simplest and most profound words spoken by Jesus from the cross: “I thirst.”

In John 11, we revisit the powerful story of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead and standing beside Mary and Martha in their grief. In Ezekiel, dry bones are given breath and life again. In Romans, we are reminded that the Spirit brings life and peace.

Together, these readings reveal a Savior who not only knows our thirst, but who thirsts for us. Jesus longs to quench our deepest needs for life, freedom, hope, purpose, relationship, faith, compassion, and salvation. Where we feel dry or weary, Christ brings living water. Where we feel empty, Christ brings resurrection life.

We also celebrate a special and joyful moment as Blake is baptized during worship with the Erin Johnson family. In the waters of baptism, God meets our thirst with grace, welcoming, claiming, and renewing life in Christ.

Theme for the Day: Grace In Every Why
Season Theme: Seven Simple, Powerful Words Of God’s Grace In Jesus Christ
Readings: 1 Samuel 16:1-13; Ephesians 5:8-14; John 9:1-41

Why? It is one of the most honest and heartfelt questions we ask.

As we hear again the story of the man born blind in John 9, it is natural to wonder why some healings happen and others do not. Why does suffering linger? Why do prayers sometimes feel unanswered? Why do miracles appear in some moments and not in others?

In this Lenten season, we are reminded that even Jesus cried out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Yet the cross does not end in abandonment. It reveals grace. It reveals love. It reveals a God who does not turn away.

Through the healing of the blind man, we see more than restored sight. We see hearts opened. We see faith awakened. We see grace at work in ways beyond our understanding. In every question, in every longing, in every why, God meets us not with silence, but with presence and promise.

Theme for the Day: “A Behold, To Behold!”
Season Theme: Seven Simple, Powerful Words Of God’s Grace In Jesus Christ
Readings: Exodus 17:1-7; Romans 5:1-11; John 4:5-42

To behold is to take notice, to look closely, to truly see.

On this Third Sunday in Lent, we hear again the powerful word from the cross: “Woman, behold your son … behold your mother.” In that sacred moment, even in suffering, Jesus invites us to see one another in a new way, held together in grace.

We also remember the woman at the well in John’s Gospel. Jesus beholds her, not as the world sees her, but as one known, valued, and loved. In that encounter, she beholds Him as well, recognizing the One who offers living water that never runs dry.

As we journey through Lent, may we take a deep look at our own hearts. May we behold the Christ who sees us fully and loves us completely. May we behold the living water that sustains us, the grace that justifies us, and the Savior who holds us for all eternity.

Sunday, March 1, 2026 – The Second Sunday In Lent
Theme for the Day: “… You Are With Me In Paradise!”
Season Theme: Seven Simple, Powerful Words Of God’s Grace In Jesus Christ
Readings: Genesis 12:1-4a; Romans 4:1-5; John 3:1-17

What are you searching for? Peace? Assurance? A place to belong? A glimpse of paradise?

Nicodemus comes to Jesus at night, searching for understanding. Abram is called to trust a promise he cannot yet see. And from the cross, a criminal cries out, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.” Jesus responds with words that echo through time: “Today you will be with me in paradise.”

In this Lenten season, we are reminded that paradise is not something we build or earn. Paradise is the promise of Christ’s presence. Paradise is grace given freely. Paradise is the love of God made known in these words: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.”

Search no further. In Christ, forgiveness is real. Hope is present. Paradise begins here, in the grace of Jesus Christ.

Lenten Theme: Seven Simple, Powerful Words of God’s Grace in Jesus Christ
Readings: Genesis 2:15–17; 3:1–7; Romans 5:12–19; Matthew 4:1–11

As we enter the first Sunday in Lent, we are drawn into the wilderness with Jesus. Led by the Spirit and tempted by Satan, Christ faces what we know so well: the pull to rely on ourselves, to hunger for more than daily bread, to test God rather than trust God, to worship something other than the Lord alone.

And yet, even in the face of temptation and human failure, the heart of Christ speaks grace. “Father, forgive them.” These words are not reserved only for Good Friday. They echo into our wilderness moments today. They meet us in our striving, our missteps, our divided hearts.

This Lenten season, as we reflect on Seven Simple, Powerful Words of God’s Grace in Jesus Christ, we begin here: forgiveness. In Adam we see our wandering. In Christ we see our rescue. In Christ we receive mercy that restores, renews, and reorients our hearts toward God.

Theme for the Day: A New Transformation Is Only the Beginning
Epiphany Season Theme: Celebrating Only the Beginning in the Light and Grace of Jesus Christ
Readings: Matthew 17:1–9

On this Transfiguration Sunday, we gather at the mountaintop to witness a moment of profound revelation. In Matthew 17:1–9, Jesus is transfigured before the disciples, his glory made visible as light breaks through and God’s voice once again declares, “This is my Son, the Beloved.”

This transformation is not meant to remain on the mountain. It is only the beginning. What the disciples glimpse in that radiant moment points forward to everything Jesus will reveal through his life, his cross, and his resurrection. In Christ, transformation does not stop with him. God’s light continues to change hearts, renew lives, and shape us into people of grace.

As we conclude the Epiphany season, we are reminded that God’s revealing work is ongoing. The light that shines on the mountain shines into our lives as well, calling us to listen, to trust, and to follow.

Readings: 2 Kings 5:1–14; 1 Corinthians 9:24–27; Mark 1:40–45

On this Fifth Sunday after Epiphany, we hear a powerful story of healing, mercy, and choice. In Mark 1:40–45, a man comes to Jesus in trust and vulnerability, saying, “If you choose, you can make me clean.” Jesus’ response is immediate and compassionate. He chooses to heal. He chooses to restore. He chooses to draw near.

This gospel reminds us that faith is not only about what we hope for, but about trusting the One who comes with grace and power. Jesus does not hesitate. He chooses mercy. He chooses life. He chooses you.

Theme for the Day: A New Kingdom Is Only the Beginning
Epiphany Season Theme: Celebrating Only the Beginning in the Light and Grace of Jesus Christ
Readings: Matthew 5:1–12

This Sunday, we hear the familiar and powerful words of the Beatitudes as Jesus reveals a new way of life in God’s kingdom. In Matthew 5:1–12, Jesus speaks blessings that turn expectations upside down, making known God’s kingdom shaped not by power or success, but by humility, mercy, justice, and grace.

Through these words, Jesus invites us to see the world and our lives differently. The Beatitudes proclaim that God’s kingdom is already breaking into our lives, offering hope, blessing, and purpose even in places of struggle or longing. This vision of God’s kingdom is not an ending, but only the beginning of how God is at work among us.

As we continue the Epiphany season, we are reminded that Christ’s light keeps revealing new beginnings, calling us to live into God’s kingdom with trust and hope.

Epiphany Season Theme: Celebrating Only the Beginning in the Light and Grace of Jesus Christ
Readings: Matthew 4:12–23

As we continue through the Epiphany season, we reflect on how Christ is revealed as the One who leads in a new and life-giving way. In Matthew 4:12–23, Jesus calls ordinary people to do an extraordinary thing: to leave what is familiar, drop their nets, and follow him.

This calling is not about having all the answers or knowing the full path ahead. It is about trusting the One who leads. When Jesus calls the disciples, he does not simply give them instructions. He invites them into a new relationship, a new purpose, and a new beginning shaped by grace.

As we worship this Sunday, we are reminded that Christ continues to call us as well. Wherever we are in our faith journey, Jesus leads us forward, opening new paths and revealing that following him is only the beginning of what God is doing in our lives.

Season Theme: Celebrating Only the Beginning in the Light and Grace of Jesus Christ

Readings: Isaiah 42:1-9; Acts 10:34-43; Matthew 3:13-17

As the Christmas season gives way to Epiphany, we gather to celebrate the Baptism of Our Lord and the powerful truth that God’s work in Christ is only the beginning. In the waters of the Jordan, Jesus is revealed as God’s beloved Son, and the light of God’s grace shines openly for all to see.

At Jesus’ baptism, the heavens are opened, the Spirit descends, and God’s voice speaks love, purpose, and calling. This moment marks the beginning of Jesus’ public ministry, and it reminds us that baptism is not an ending or a requirement completed, but the beginning of a life shaped by grace, forgiveness, and hope.

Theme for the Day: Comfort And Joy, Alive And Among Us
Season Theme: Tidings of Comfort and Joy, In the Grace of Jesus Christ

Readings: John 1:1-18

Christmas Day may have passed, trees may be coming down, and decorations may already be packed away, but the promise of Christmas is far from over. Even as our homes return to their usual rhythm, the Gospel of John reminds us of a gift that cannot be boxed up, broken, misplaced, or stored until next season.

“The Word became flesh and lived among us.”

This is the lasting truth of Christmas. Tidings of comfort and joy have not faded. They are alive, present, and dwelling with us now. Emmanuel, God with us, continues to shine light in our darkness, continues to speak grace into our days, continues to give hope that does not waver.

As we step into a new year, we are blessed to celebrate the One who is Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His gifts do not expire or wear out. His presence does not retreat. Christ remains with us, full of grace upon grace.

Sunday, December 28, 2025 – The First Sunday After Christmas

Theme for the Day: Still Searching For Comfort And Joy
Christmas Season Theme: Tidings of Comfort and Joy, In the Grace of Jesus Christ

Readings: Matthew 2:13-23

As the twelve days of Christmas continue, we gather on this First Sunday After Christmas still wrapped in the promise of Emmanuel, God with us. This week brings the familiar question: How was your Christmas? We think about hosting, traveling, meals, family gatherings, and gifts. We wonder if we received what we were hoping for or if we are still searching for something more.

Matthew’s gospel reminds us that God’s presence does not end on Christmas Day. Even as the holy family journeys onward, God’s protection and purpose continue to unfold. In the same way, as a new year approaches, God draws near with comfort for our weariness and joy for our longing.

If you find yourself still searching for more Christmas this year, trust that you will find it in Jesus Christ. In every transition, in every hope, in every beginning, Emmanuel meets you with all the comfort and joy your heart is seeking.

Wednesday, December 24, 2025 – Christmas Eve

Theme for the Day: Christ Is Comfort And Joy
Christmas Season Theme: Tidings of Comfort and Joy, In the Grace of Jesus Christ

Readings: Luke 2:1-20

On this holy night, we gather at the manger once more, drawn by the same hopes and longing that filled the hearts of shepherds long ago. Christmas Eve invites us to pause and ask: Why are we here tonight? What are we looking for? What are we hoping for this Christmas?

We often hear that this night is especially for children. Indeed it is, for it is a night for the children of God, for the child of God living in each one of us. God delights in watching his children filled with anticipation and wonder, even when our own hearts are weary or uncertain.

Just as the shepherds were keeping watch in the midst of demands and unknowns, we arrive with our own burdens and questions. Yet the angels still sing, the good news still breaks forth, and the Christ Child still comes with grace that exceeds every expectation. Tonight we go with haste, trusting that God gives more than we imagined, filling us with the finest tidings of comfort and joy.

Sunday, December 21, 2025 – The Fourth Sunday in Advent – The Star and Angel Candle

Advent Theme: Tidings of Comfort and Joy, In the Grace of Jesus Christ
Theme for the Day: Giving Comfort and Joy

Readings: Matthew 1:18-25

On this Fourth Sunday in Advent, we light the Star and Angel Candle, recalling the messengers and signs God sent long ago to Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, and the wise men. Their message was clear: comfort and joy were coming into the world, and God’s promise was being fulfilled.

As Christmas approaches quickly, many of us feel the familiar gap between what we hoped to prepare and what is actually ready. Yet the heart of Advent reminds us that God closes every gap with grace. Where our preparations fall short, God meets us with comfort. Where our expectations falter, God surprises us with joy.

Matthew’s gospel proclaims the birth of Jesus as Emmanuel, God with us. Trust that the same God who guided angels and stars continues to guide you now. God has more than enough time, more than enough grace, to point you toward the comfort and joy found in Christ.

Sunday, December 14, 2025 – The Third Sunday in Advent – The Shepherd’s Candle

Advent Theme: Tidings of Comfort and Joy, In the Grace of Jesus Christ
Theme for the Day: Announce New Tidings

Readings: Matthew 11:2-11
Special Worship Feature: Children’s Christmas Program

On this Third Sunday in Advent, we light the Shepherd’s Candle, symbolizing joy and the Good News first shared with those keeping watch in the fields. The shepherds listened, believed, and hurried to see the promise fulfilled. Advent invites us to do the same.

Every day brings news from countless sources. We all choose what voices to trust and what messages we follow. Yet for our faith, for our hope, for our preparation this Advent, there is one voice above all others: the voice announcing the coming of the Lord. As Jesus reassures John’s disciples in today’s gospel, new tidings of comfort and joy are already breaking forth, reliable and true, for all who listen.

Today we also celebrate our Children’s Christmas Program, giving thanks for the joy, faith, and voices of our young people as they help announce these tidings in a special way.
