Theme: “Be Anew … You Who Think You Are So Clever!”
Worship at 9:30 a.m. | In Person & Online

Sometimes we try to be good and devoted at what we do, and other times we try to be clever, cute, or creative. Yet nothing pays off like discipline, devotion, and faithfulness. The parable of the “shrewd” manager in Luke 16:1-13 reminds us that while cleverness and quick thinking have their place, they cannot substitute for faithfulness. God cannot be fooled—and God doesn’t need to be.

Celebrate a new beginning in The One who is clever and wise, faithful and true, to renew, to lead, and to save!

Worship Highlights:
Scripture: Luke 16:1-13
Message: “Be Anew … You Who Think You Are So Clever!”
September Worship Theme: “Time To Follow Through … On A New Beginning!”

Location: Lord of Life Lutheran Church, Lakeville, MN
Join Us: In person. This service will not be livestreamed.

Let us worship together and breathe deeply of the grace that proves God’s wisdom is greater than our cleverness.

Affirmation of Baptism

We invite you to join us on September 28, 2025, as we celebrate a special and meaningful occasion in the life of our church community - Confirmation Sunday and the Affirmation of Baptism.

Confirmation is a significant milestone in the faith journey of our young members. It is a time when they have the opportunity to affirm their baptismal vows and declare their commitment to living a life of faith. On this day, our confirmands will stand before the congregation to acknowledge the grace of God, the teachings of Jesus Christ, and their desire to live as faithful disciples.

The Affirmation of Baptism is not just a rite of passage but a sacred moment where our youth publicly declare their beliefs, values, and dedication to their Christian faith. It is a day of celebration, reflection, and commitment.

We encourage you to join us in worship and witness this special event. Your presence and support mean a great deal to our confirmands as they take this important step in their faith journey. Let us come together as a community to celebrate, encourage, and uplift these young members as they affirm their faith and commitment to Christ.

Please mark your calendars and plan to be part of this joyous occasion. We look forward to seeing you there as we celebrate Confirmation Sunday and the Affirmation of Baptism on September 28, 2025.

Theme: “Take A Breath … Presume Only This!”
Worship at 9:30 a.m. | In Person & Online

Anticipate. We are taught early in life: “try to anticipate.” A puzzle, a story line, a game—we are encouraged to anticipate what happens next. But anticipating is far different from assuming or presuming.

In Luke 14:1, 7–14, Jesus speaks directly to our tendency to presume: presume our place, presume how God does things, presume that we are entitled. Instead, we are invited to take a deep, fresh breath and presume only this—that our place is assured thanks to the saving, ever-present power and grace of Jesus Christ.

Why do we do what we do? Good question. Why does God do what God does? Better question. Why do we question what God does? Good question. Why do we not let God be God? Better question.

In Luke 13:10–17, Jesus heals on the Sabbath—raising good questions and better questions. Why not take a deep, fresh breath and trust anew The One who, in grace, heals all and answers every question?

Theme: “Take A Breath, Easier Said When Done!”
Worship at 9:30 a.m. | In Person & Online

Some things sound simple—until you try to do them. In Luke 12:49-56, Jesus speaks of division, urgency, and the cost of discipleship. It’s a reminder that following Christ often feels like one of those “easier said than done” tasks. Yet with God’s grace, the hard work of faith becomes possible—and even transformative.

Take a breath. Lean into the challenge. Trust anew in the One who has already done what we could never do alone.

Theme: “Take A Breath, Ready For One Thing!”
Worship at 9:30 a.m. | In Person & Online

We’re often told to “be ready for anything.” But what if God is preparing us for one thing? In Luke 12:32-40, Jesus reminds us to be watchful and expectant—for grace, for the promise, for the moment when faith becomes sight. The call may come at an unexpected hour, but God’s grace is always right on time.

Take a breath. Trust anew. And be ready—not for everything, but for the One thing that changes everything.

Theme: “Take A Breath … Time To Store Up!”
Worship at 9:30 a.m. | In Person & Online

We all keep things in storage — supplies, keepsakes, plans for the future. Being prepared is wise, but Jesus invites us to consider what we are storing up, and why. In Luke 12:13-21, Jesus reminds us that while wealth and possessions can create tension, it is the desires of our hearts that ultimately shape our lives.

Take a deep, fresh breath this week and renew your trust in the One who stores up grace — not for gain, but for your good. God’s grace is always in abundance, always ready, and always enough.

Worship at 9:30 a.m. | In Person & Online

This week, we reflect on the gift and power of prayer — how even a small conversation can deepen our connection with God. In Luke 11:1-13, the disciples ask Jesus to teach them how to pray, and Jesus responds with both guidance and encouragement: God hears us, and God is faithful to respond.

As we P.R.A.Y. — Praise, Repent, Ask, and Yield — may we take a deep, fresh breath and find renewed trust in the One who listens, speaks, and walks with us.

This Sunday, we celebrate the conclusion of a wonderful week of Vacation Bible School! The children will help lead worship and share songs from the week, reminding us of the joy and wonder of faith.

In Luke 10:38-42, Jesus gently redirects Martha’s busyness and anxiety, reminding her — and us — that only one thing is truly needed. In a world full of distractions and priorities constantly shifting, Jesus invites us to take a deep, fresh breath and choose the better part: His presence.

You are always Jesus’ number one priority. May that truth center and ground you this week.

Worship at 9:30 a.m. | In Person & Online

As we prepare to kick off Vacation Bible School on Monday morning, we gather for worship this Sunday with a timely reminder: God's grace never passes us by.

In Luke 10:25-37, Jesus shares the parable of The Good Samaritan in response to a question from a lawyer: “What must I do to inherit eternal life?” While the world may look the other way, Jesus teaches us to see, stop, and serve—mirroring the very grace God gives us every day.

Take a deep, fresh breath, and remember: in a world that often rushes by, God sees you, graces you, and never passes you by.

This Sunday, we continue our summer theme, “Take A Breath, Take A Deep, Fresh Breath,” with a focus on opening our eyes and hearts to see God's grace right in front of us.

Our gospel reading, Luke 8:26-39, tells the story of Jesus healing a man possessed by demons—an encounter that reveals both divine power and the difficulty people sometimes have in truly seeing Jesus.
