You are invited!

In this week's Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of a wedding banquet. Invitations have been sent, a feast has been prepared, and everything is ready. Yet those first invited choose not to come. The invitation then reaches farther and wider, welcoming others to come, gather, and share in the celebration.

Through this parable, Jesus reveals another powerful sign of God's love: the invitation of grace. God reaches out to us, calls us, and invites us into a life and relationship with Him. The invitation is not something we earn or deserve. It is given freely because God first loves us.

Yet an invitation asks for a response. God entrusts each of us with the opportunity to answer, to receive His grace, and to allow that grace to shape the way we live. Again and again, God calls us from wherever we are, inviting us to the table, into community, and into a life of faith and love.

As we continue Celebrating And Sharing Signs Of Love In The Grace Of Jesus Christ!, may we recognize God's invitations all around us. Each new day brings opportunities to receive grace, share love, serve our neighbors, and invite others to experience the welcome God has already extended to us.

What has God placed into our care?

This Sunday begins a new journey as we celebrate and share the countless signs of God's love all around us. In Jesus' parable of the vineyard, a landowner entrusts something precious to the care of tenants, expecting them to faithfully tend the vineyard and bear fruit. Jesus invites us to consider all that God, our faithful Landowner, has entrusted to us.

Our lives, our gifts, our relationships, our church, and the opportunities we have to serve our neighbors are not simply possessions to hold onto. They are signs of love placed into our care. God calls us to tend them faithfully, allowing His grace to bear fruit through the ways we love, serve, give, welcome, and care for one another.

Paul reminds us in Philippians to keep "straining forward to what lies ahead," pressing on because Christ has first made us His own. We do not bear fruit to earn God's love. We bear fruit because God has already loved us, chosen us, and entrusted us with more signs of His grace than we could ever count.

This Sunday we will also celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Baptism for Matthew Ryan Norman Wegner, welcoming Matthew into the Lord's family and giving thanks for another beautiful sign of God's love and grace among us.

Confirmation Sunday is a joyful reminder that faith is not simply a milestone to reach, but a lifelong journey of growing in God's grace. As we celebrate our confirmands and the promises they make, we also remember that each day is an opportunity for all of us to be renewed in faith, hope, and love.

In this week's Gospel, the religious leaders question Jesus' authority. Rather than answering with worldly power or position, Jesus points them toward a deeper wisdom that can only be recognized through humble and faithful hearts. God's authority is revealed not through control or status, but through love, mercy, and the transforming power of grace.

As we continue our September theme, Celebrating And Sharing A New Beginning In God's Grace Alone!, we are reminded that God's wisdom continually invites us to see life differently. Affirmation of Baptism

We invite you to join us on September 27, 2026, as we celebrate a special and meaningful occasion in the life of our church community - Confirmation Sunday and the Affirmation of Baptism.

Confirmation is a significant milestone in the faith journey of our young members. It is a time when they have the opportunity to affirm their baptismal vows and declare their commitment to living a life of faith. On this day, our confirmands will stand before the congregation to acknowledge the grace of God, the teachings of Jesus Christ, and their desire to live as faithful disciples.

Banquet

Join us for a special evening of celebration and fellowship at our Confirmation Banquet on September 20, 2026. This event serves as both a rehearsal and a joyful gathering in anticipation of Confirmation Sunday, which will take place the following week.

As we prepare to celebrate the Confirmation of our young members, we invite all 10th grade confirmands and their families to come together for a delightful dinner. Dinner will be brought in, allowing everyone to enjoy a meal together in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The Confirmation Banquet is not only an opportunity to share a meal but also a time for our confirmands to rehearse and become familiar with the order of service and the sanctuary. It's a chance for them to feel comfortable and confident as they prepare to affirm their faith on Confirmation Sunday, September 27th, 2026.

We encourage all 10th grade confirmands and their families to attend this special event. It's a wonderful way to connect with one another, celebrate the journey of faith, and build a sense of community within our church family.

Life often teaches us that we receive what we earn. We learn to measure success by effort, reward by achievement, and fairness by keeping careful accounts. Yet the kingdom of God operates in a wonderfully different way.

In this week's Gospel, Jesus tells the parable of the laborers in the vineyard. Those who worked only a short time received the same generous wage as those who labored throughout the entire day. At first, this seems unfair. But Jesus reveals that God's grace is never about earning what we deserve. It is about receiving the generous love that God freely chooses to give.

If we received only what we had earned, none of us could stand before God on our own. Instead, God welcomes us with mercy, forgiveness, and abundant grace. God's generosity exceeds every expectation, inviting us into a new way of seeing ourselves, our neighbors, and the Kingdom.

As we continue celebrating and sharing a new beginning in God's grace alone, may we discover that God always has more in store than we imagine. His blessings are greater than our calculations, His mercy is deeper than our failures, and His promises reach far beyond what we could ever expect. In Christ, every new beginning comes with the joyful promise that God's grace always gives us more than we thought possible.

As we begin a new season together, returning to our fall schedule, Faith Quest, and the Blessing of the Backpacks, we are reminded that every new beginning is rooted in God's abundant grace.

In this week's Gospel, Peter asks Jesus how many times he should forgive someone who sins against him. Surely there must be a limit. Jesus responds by telling the parable of the unforgiving servant, revealing that God's forgiveness cannot be measured or earned. While we often keep score, counting successes, failures, and what others owe us, God's grace refuses to be confined by our calculations.

Perhaps God gently smiles and asks us, "Oh, you think so?" whenever we try to measure our worth or someone else's by keeping score. If our place in God's kingdom depended on our performance, we would fall short every time. Yet through Jesus Christ, we receive forgiveness that is abundant, undeserved, and freely given. In God's grace, every day becomes a new beginning.

As backpacks are blessed and a new ministry year begins, we celebrate that God sends each of us into the world carrying far more than books, schedules, or plans. We are sent with the promise that His grace goes with us, His mercy renews us, and His love is always more than enough for whatever lies ahead.

Every new beginning can seem overwhelming. We wonder if we have enough faith, enough strength, enough wisdom, or enough courage to take the next step. Yet again and again, God reminds us that His work has never depended upon having "enough." It has always depended upon His grace.

In this week's Gospel, Jesus promises that where two or three gather in His name, He is present among them. What seems small by the world's standards becomes something extraordinary in God's hands. A conversation, a prayer, an act of forgiveness, a small gathering of believers, these become places where Christ is powerfully present.

As we begin a new month and a new season with the theme, Celebrating And Sharing A New Beginning In God's Grace Alone!, we are invited to trust that God can accomplish great things through ordinary people. We may question our faithfulness or feel that what we have to offer is not much. Yet God takes who we are, what we have, and our willingness to follow, and transforms it into far more than enough.

Following Peter's bold confession that Jesus is the Messiah, the conversation takes an unexpected turn. When Jesus begins to reveal that He must suffer and die, Peter cannot accept it. Trying to protect Jesus, Peter unknowingly stands in the way of God's greater purpose, prompting Jesus' powerful response: "Get behind me, Satan!"

This Gospel reminds us that even our best intentions can sometimes become stumbling blocks. We may try to take control, avoid hardship, or choose the easier path, but God's way often leads us through places we would never choose on our own. Still, it is always the path of grace, redemption, and life.

As we share the final gentle breezes of summer, we are invited to trust the Spirit's leading with renewed confidence. Jesus continues to call us forward, overcoming our fears, our doubts, and our imperfections. Nothing, not even our own stumbling blocks, can prevent God's grace from accomplishing its purpose in our lives.

Christ faithfully removes every obstacle that separates us from His love. He calls us to follow Him, trusting that His grace is always greater than the challenges before us and that nothing can stand in the way of the salvation He freely gives.

In life, we all look for something solid to stand on. When circumstances shift beneath our feet and the path becomes steep, we long for a foundation that will never give way.

In this week's Gospel, Peter boldly confesses that Jesus is "the Messiah, the Son of the living God." Jesus responds by declaring that this confession of faith is the rock upon which He will build His Church. It is not a foundation built on human strength or perfection, but on the unshakable truth of who Christ is.

As we continue our journey of Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ, we are invited to feel the refreshing breeze of God's Spirit strengthening our faith once again. We are reminded to trust the Rock of our salvation, to treasure the gifts God has given us, and to keep climbing even when we stumble. God's grace does not abandon us when we slip. Instead, it lifts us up, steadies our feet, and calls us onward.

The Church continues to stand because Christ remains its sure foundation. His grace is rock solid, His promises are faithful, and His love endures through every season of life.

Sometimes we settle for what seems possible, believing that what is right in front of us is all we can hope for. Yet God continually invites us to trust that His grace has something even greater in store.

In this week's Gospel, a Canaanite woman comes to Jesus with remarkable faith. Though she is told that even the crumbs from the table are enough, she refuses to give up hope. Her trust, humility, and persistence lead Jesus to proclaim, "Woman, great is your faith!" Through her story, we discover that God's grace is never scarce, and His mercy is always greater than we imagine.

The gentle breeze of God's Spirit stirs within us the same courageous faith. It encourages us to keep seeking, keep trusting, and keep believing that God is leading us toward something even better than we can see today. What feels like only a glimpse of hope, purpose, calling, or healing is often just the beginning of what God is preparing.

Through Jesus Christ, we receive far more than crumbs. We are welcomed to the feast of God's abundant grace, where His love satisfies, His mercy overflows, and His promises continue to unfold in our lives.

There are moments in life when the winds pick up, the waves grow higher, and fear begins to overshadow our faith. In those moments, we may wonder if we have what it takes to keep moving forward.

In this week's Gospel, Jesus comes to His disciples walking on the water. When Peter asks to come to Him, Jesus simply says, "Come." Peter steps out of the boat in faith, but when he shifts his focus to the storm, he begins to sink. Even then, Jesus immediately reaches out His hand and lifts him up.

This story is not about having perfect faith. It is about trusting the One who never takes His eyes off of us. Jesus continues to call us forward, even when the journey feels impossible. He invites us to step beyond our fears, knowing that His grace is always greater than the storms we face.

As we continue sharing gentle breezes in the grace of Jesus Christ, may we feel the Spirit encouraging us anew. You can make it. You can answer God's call. You can walk in faith. You can keep your eyes on Jesus, even when the waters become rough, because through it all, Jesus never stops watching over you.

What are you hungry for?

We all experience hunger in different ways. We hunger for purpose, for peace, for hope, for belonging. We search for things that will satisfy, yet so often we discover they leave us wanting more.

In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus feeds more than five thousand people with just a few loaves and fish. What seemed impossible became more than enough. This miracle reveals not only Christ's compassion for physical needs, but His desire to satisfy the deepest hunger of the human heart.

Jesus is the One who never runs out of grace. He is the One who provides abundantly, who fills empty hands and weary souls, and who invites everyone to His table.

As we continue our summer theme, may we feel the gentle breeze of the Holy Spirit stirring within us a deeper hunger for Christ. The One who hungers for us first is always faithful to satisfy us with His love, His mercy, and His grace.

What is truly valuable? What is worth holding onto no matter what?

In this week's Gospel, Jesus shares several parables about the Kingdom of Heaven, including the treasure hidden in a field and the pearl of great value. Using things people treasured in everyday life, Jesus reveals something even greater: the priceless value of God's kingdom and God's grace.

The treasure and the pearl are worth everything because they point us to the love of God in Christ. This love is not meant to be merely one important part of our lives. It is meant to be everything to us. It is the gift that transforms how we see ourselves, our neighbors, and the world around us.

As we celebrate Vacation Bible School Week, we also celebrate the seeds of faith planted throughout the week in the lives of children, families, volunteers, and our congregation. Through every song, lesson, craft, and act of kindness, God's kingdom has been made known in fresh and joyful ways.

As the gentle breeze of the Holy Spirit continues to move among us, we are reminded of another amazing truth: God places priceless value on each and every one of us. We are loved, treasured, and claimed by grace.

Readings: Matthew 13:24-30, 36-43

Life is full of risks. Some are small and everyday. Others can feel much bigger. We often want certainty, quick solutions, and clear answers.

In the Parable of the Weeds, Jesus tells a story that may seem surprising. As weeds grow among the wheat, the servants want to pull them up immediately. Yet the master tells them to wait. It seems risky. Why allow the weeds to remain? Why not remove them right away?

Through this parable, Jesus reminds us that God sees a bigger picture than we do. God's patience, mercy, and grace are at work even when we cannot fully understand what is happening around us. The Lord continues to nurture the good, care for the harvest, and guide all things according to His purpose.

As we continue our summer theme, we are invited to feel the gentle breeze of God's Spirit moving among us. When life feels uncertain, when questions remain unanswered, and when challenges continue to grow around us, we can trust the One who takes every risk necessary to save us.

In Jesus Christ, God's grace reaches into the messiness of life, bringing hope, healing, and the promise of a harvest yet to come.

As our VBS journey wraps up, kids will celebrate the week with music, laughter, and faith-filled fun. We’ll revisit favorite moments, share in a joyful closing, and send our crew off with hearts anchored in God’s love.

With hearts full of joy and sunscreen at the ready, kids will keep exploring faith through storytelling, songs, and water play. We’re building community, creativity, and character—one wave at a time.

Our young crew continues their journey with new stories, beach-themed crafts, games, and music that helps them grow in faith and friendship. All are welcome — even landlubbers!

Join us as we launch into a week of songs, stories, crafts, and splashy fun. Day one sets the course for our ocean adventure with faith-filled activities and friendly faces. Children age 3 (potty trained) through entering 5th grade are invited aboard.

As we begin a new week of Vacation Bible School, we gather around one of Jesus' most familiar and powerful teachings: The Parable of the Sower.

In Matthew 13, Jesus reminds us that God's Word is like seed scattered generously across every kind of soil. Some seeds struggle to take root. Others are crowded out by the worries and distractions of life. But some fall on good soil and produce an abundant harvest.

The good news is that God never stops sowing. Every day, the Sower continues to plant seeds of grace, hope, faith, and love in our lives. Through the gentle breeze of the Holy Spirit, God prepares our hearts, nurtures our faith, and helps us grow deeper roots than we ever imagined possible.

As Vacation Bible School begins, we celebrate the ways God is planting seeds in the lives of children, families, and all who gather in faith. Together, we trust that God's grace is at work, helping us grow, flourish, and bear fruit for the kingdom.

Are you getting enough rest?

In a world that constantly asks us to do more, move faster, and carry heavier burdens, Jesus offers a different invitation. In Matthew's Gospel, He says, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

This is more than a suggestion. It is a promise.

When life becomes overwhelming, when responsibilities pile up, when worry and stress begin to weigh us down, Jesus invites us to come away with Him for a while. He invites us to cast our burdens upon Him, to trust the One who willingly takes on our struggles, and to find rest that goes deeper than a good night's sleep.

As we continue our summer theme, we are reminded that God's grace often comes like a gentle breeze, calming anxious hearts, renewing weary spirits, and restoring our strength for the journey ahead.

Real rest is found not in escaping life's challenges, but in walking with the One who promises to carry them with us.

What does it mean to be truly welcome? Not simply invited. Not merely tolerated. But genuinely welcomed, valued, and given a place to belong.

In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus reminds His followers that even the smallest acts of hospitality matter in God's kingdom. A welcome offered in His name becomes a blessing. A cup of cold water shared in love becomes an expression of grace.

This promise points us to the heart of the Gospel. In Christ, there is room for everyone. We are welcomed not because we have earned a place, but because God has made a place for us. Through the gentle breeze of God's grace, we are invited into a relationship of love, mercy, and belonging.

This Sunday, we will also share Holy Communion in the Memorial Garden, gathering outdoors to celebrate God's presence among us and to remember that we are part of a community that stretches across generations, united in Christ's love.

Feed My Starving Children Volunteer Opportunity

Join Lord of Life as we put our faith into action through service at Feed My Starving Children in Eagan on Saturday, June 27, from 2:30–4:15 PM.

Together, we will help pack nutritious meals that will be distributed to children and families facing hunger around the world. This is a meaningful opportunity to serve alongside fellow members of our congregation while sharing Christ's love and hope with those in need.

Volunteers ages 5 and up are welcome. There are roles for everyone, whether you prefer a seated position or enjoy a more active role on the packing floor. No experience is necessary.

Fear is something we all experience. We worry about the future. We question our decisions. We wonder how things will turn out. At times, fear can feel larger than our faith.

In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus speaks directly to those fears. Again and again, He tells His followers, “Do not be afraid.” These words are not a promise that life will be free from challenges. Rather, they are a reminder that God is present in every challenge, every uncertainty, and every question we face.

As we continue our summer theme, we are invited to feel the gentle breeze of God's grace moving through our lives. The same God who knows us completely, who counts even the hairs on our heads, walks beside us through every season. We do not face life's struggles alone.

On this Father's Day Weekend, we also give thanks for those who have encouraged, guided, protected, and supported us through life's journey. Their care reminds us of God's steadfast presence and love.

Whatever fears or doubts we carry, Christ meets us with courage, comfort, and hope. The gentle breeze of God's grace continues to blow, reminding us to trust the One who is always with us.

There is always more to do. More places to go. More people to see. More opportunities to serve. At times, the needs around us can feel overwhelming.

In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus looks upon the crowds with compassion and reminds His disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.” Yet Jesus does not leave His followers to carry the work alone. He calls them, equips them, and sends them with everything they need.

The same is true for us. God never asks us to walk alone. Through the presence of Christ and the gentle breeze of the Holy Spirit, we are given strength for the journey, courage for the calling, and grace for each new day.

As we continue our summer theme, we are reminded that God's Spirit is constantly moving among us, refreshing, encouraging, and guiding us. There is much to do in God's kingdom, but there is also all the help we will ever need.

As we continue our summer journey of Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ, we are reminded that God's grace comes to us not only in dramatic moments, but also through His steady, healing presence.

In Matthew's Gospel, Jesus calls Matthew to follow Him, shares a meal with those others would reject, heals a woman who had suffered for years, and raises a young girl to new life. Again and again, Jesus brings restoration, hope, and healing wherever He goes. He reminds us that God's mercy is greater than our brokenness and that His grace continues to make us whole.

The readings from Hosea and Romans echo this same promise. God binds up what is wounded, revives what seems lost, and fulfills His promises through faith and grace. Even when life feels uncertain, God's healing touch remains near.

On this Holy Trinity Sunday, we celebrate the mystery, power, and unity of God revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. In Matthew 28, Jesus sends His disciples into the world with a promise and a purpose: to go, to teach, to baptize, and to trust that He is with us always.

This is not a journey we take alone. The grace of God moves among us, within us, and through us. The Father creates and calls. The Son saves and leads. The Holy Spirit sustains and sends. Together, the fullness of God’s presence surrounds us and goes before us.

As we continue our summer theme, we are reminded that God’s Spirit often moves not only in powerful moments, but like a gentle breeze, steady and constant, drawing us together in faith, in community, and in purpose.

In Christ, we are not scattered or alone. We are gathered. Sent. Held. And moved by grace, all together, now.
