Theme for the Day: Living Peace Is Alive, Right Here, In The Risen Christ
Season Theme: Celebrating God’s Grace Alive, Right Here, In The Risen Christ
Readings: Acts 2:14a, 22-32; 1 Peter 1:3-9; John 20:19-31
On this Second Sunday of Easter, we continue to celebrate the good news that Christ is risen and alive among us. The resurrection is not just something we remember. It is something we live.
In John’s Gospel, the disciples are gathered behind locked doors, filled with fear and uncertainty, when Jesus comes and stands among them, speaking the words we long to hear: “Peace be with you.” Even in doubt, even in fear, even in uncertainty, Christ meets us with grace.
This is living peace. A peace that breaks into our worry. A peace that calms our hearts. A peace that reminds us we are not alone.
Through the witness of the resurrection, we are given more than hope for someday. We are given peace for today. Right here. In this moment. In our lives.
