For You are my Lord
You are my Lord
“Seek The Lord and his strength, seek his presence continually.”
When you run out of energy, what helps you get re-energized? When you grow tired in spirit or in your faith, what renews you? Feeling empty of simple power is one thing; not knowing where to find more power to be renewed can leave us feeling beaten down.
Jesus' parable of the mustard seed tells us if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you have enough faith, you have enough faith to see and do great things, to see and do the great things of God, to see and do the great things God is giving you power to do.
'Seeking The Lord' is having enough faith and power to know where to look for more power. 'Seeking The Lord' is having enough faith and power to long for Jesus to be with you, to know and believe and trust you have even more power when you see He is present with you. 'Seeking The Lord' is having enough faith and power to believe you will run out of power if left on your own; you have his power and presence continually; you are renewed; your power will never dry up.
Keep these seven words of simple power close by: 'Seek The Lord, his strength, his presence.' If you feel like an eighth word might help, try this one: continually!
Let us pray: Jesus, today I come to you for power. Believing, trusting, following, serving, surrendering, takes energy and power; and yet, you renew me; you will never let my spirit dry up, and you will never allow me to become powerless. I seek you, my Lord and my God, your strength, your presence, continually. In your name and power, I pray. Amen.
