I Love You, Lord
Klein
I love you Lord
And I lift my voice
To worship you
O my soul
Rejoice
Take joy my King
In what you hear
Let it be a sweet
Sweet sound
In your ear
“For just as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous.”
Almost all of us at one time or another have been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Most of us at some point have felt guilty or been blamed "by association." Even as Christians, we can find ourselves wondering, "what if Adam and Eve had not sinned?"
Taking responsibility, holding ourselves accountable is not easy. Yes, by one person's disobedience we were made sinners; on our own, we are each sinners as well.
Have you ever been in the right place, at the right time? Have you ever been blessed with praise when others were more deserving?
"Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do." One man's obedience has made us righteous. We have done nothing. Jesus humbled himself to go to the cross, to be in the right place at the right time on our behalf, to bless us; he is the one deserving our praise!
I love you, Lord, and I lift my voice, for these seven simple, powerful, renewing words: "I am saved by association; by Jesus!"
Let us pray: Lord, I often try to save myself, and yet, I am the one who is so disobedient. Today, I lift my voice, and my soul rejoices; for you forgive me, you renew me, even when I know not what I do, you alone make me righteous. You are so deserving of my praise and devotion. Be with me this Lenten season; be with me all my days for all eternity, that I may forever have you take joy in me. In your name, I rejoice as I pray. Amen.
