Here I Am to Worship
Hughes
Light of the World
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes let me see
Beauty that made
This heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with you
refrain:
Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You’re my God
You’re altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me
And I’ll never know
How much it cost
To see my sin
Up on that cross
And I’ll never know
How much it cost
To see my sin
Up on that cross
(refrain)
Litany Trusting God’s Faithfulness & Grace In Every Gentle Breeze
BASED ON PSALM 25
Today, we are blessed anew to trust we are welcome, really welcome, in the One who welcomes us first in every gentle breeze of God’s grace, so here we are to worship, in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen. To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. I put my trust in you and follow you, because though I am a sinner and make mistakes, you will not let me be put to shame.
People of God: Those who wait upon the Lord will not be put to shame; they will be set free. Let us take a moment of silence to confess our sins and those times we fail to welcome others, and those times we fail to trust the One who welcomes us in grace alone.
(silence for reflection)
Friends in Christ: Today, the love of Jesus welcomes us once again, and is again revealed in the gentle breeze of God’s grace in these words: Jesus saves; Jesus forgives you of all your sins. Let us believe anew, and welcome one and all in new ways! Let us forever come, to the One who comes to us, just as we are!

Just As I Am
Elliot & Bradbury
vs. 1
Just as I am without one plea
But that thy blood was shed for me
And that thou bidd’st me come to thee
O Lamb of God I come I come
I love you, Lord. You are the God of my salvation! Help and hope are here every day! Today, I feel the gentle breeze of your grace, welcoming one and all; for you and your mercy and your steadfast love, I will wait all the day long.
Friends, feel the gentle breeze of the Lord’s paths, filled with forgiveness, steadfast love, and faithfulness. The Lord’s covenant is firm; He does not abandon us. Live anew! All are truly welcome! Come anew, to the One who comes to you, just as you are!
Song of Renewal In Grace
Just As I Am
Elliot & Bradbury
vs. 5
Just as I am thou wilt receive
Wilt welcome pardon cleanse relieve
Because thy promise I believe
O Lamb of God I come I come
Loving God, you restore us; you send us out to live as your disciples. Give us courage to make you and our neighbors first in new ways, to hear you beckoning us and blessing us to welcome all others, to love one another as we have been loved by you. By your Holy Spirit, increase our faith, to come just as we are, to feel the gentle breeze of your grace, to believe anew in your mercy and compassion, so that even when we feel unworthy, we trust anew you welcome us, one and all. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
Old Testament Lesson
JEREMIAH 28:5–9
Then the prophet Jeremiah spoke to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the Lord; and the prophet Jeremiah said, “Amen! May the Lord do so; may the Lord fulfill the words that you have prophesied, and bring back to this place from Babylon the vessels of the house of the Lord, and all the exiles. But listen now to this word that I speak in your hearing and in the hearing of all the people. The prophets who preceded you and me from ancient times prophesied the war, famine, and pestilence against many countries and great kingdoms. As for the prophet who prophesies peace, when the word of that prophet comes true, then it will be known that the Lord has truly sent the prophet.”
(New Revised Standard Version)
New Testament Lesson
ROMANS 6:12–23
Therefore, do not let sin exercise dominion in your mortal bodies, to make you obey their passion. No longer present your members to sin as instruments of wickedness, but present yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life, and present your members to God as instruments of righteousness. For sin will have no dominion over you, since you are not under law but under grace. What then? Should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? By no means! Do you not know that if you present yourselves to anyone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin, which leads to death, or of obedience, which leads to righteousness? But thanks be to God that you, having once been slaves to sin, have become obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which you were entrusted, and that you, having been set free from sin, have become slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms because of your natural limitations. For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness for sanctification. When you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. So what advantage did you then get from the things of which you are now ashamed? The end of those things is death. But now that you have been freed from sin and enslaved to God, the advantage you get is sanctification. The end is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Song of Welcoming Grace
I Love to Tell the Story
Hankey & Fischer
vs. 1
I love to tell the story
Of unseen things above
Of Jesus and his glory
Of Jesus and his love
I love to tell the story
Because I know it’s true
It satisfies my longings
As nothing else would do
refrain:
I love to tell the story
I’ll sing this theme in glory
And tell the old old story
Of Jesus and his love
vs. 2
I love to tell the story
How pleasant to repeat
What seems each time I tell it
More wonderfully sweet
I love to tell the story
For some have never heard
The message of salvation
From God’s own holy Word
(refrain)
vs. 3
I love to tell the story
For those who know it best
Seem hungering and thirsting
To hear it like the rest
And when in scenes of glory
I sing the new new song
I’ll sing the old old story
That I have loved so long
(refrain)
Gospel
MATTHEW 10:40–42
Jesus taught them saying, “Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Whoever welcomes a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s reward; and whoever welcomes a righteous person in the name of a righteous person will receive the reward of the righteous; and whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple – truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward.”
(New Revised Standard Version)
BASED ON PSALM 89
As we share gentle breezes of The Spirit this summer, let us share our faith and speak boldly of all we believe, trusting the living breath of The Spirit and God’s saving grace.
I will sing of your steadfast love, O Lord, forever; with my mouth I will proclaim your faithfulness to all generations. I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens. You said, “I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to my servant David: ‘I will establish your descendants forever, and build your throne for all generations.’” Let the heavens praise your wonders, O Lord, your faithfulness in the assembly of the holy ones. For who in the sky can be compared to the Lord? Who among the heavenly beings is like the Lord, great and awesome above all that are around him? O Lord, God of hosts, who is as mighty as you? Blessed be the Lord forever. Amen and Amen.

You are Welcome, Really Welcome, In Every Gentle Breeze
JEREMIAH 28:5-9; ROMANS 6:12-23; MATTHEW 10:40-42
"Thank you!" "Thank you!" "No, no, really, thank you!" Does this cultural exchange sound familiar? Someone shares an act of kindness, and receives a word of gratitude. "You're welcome!" "No, you're welcome." "No, no, really, you're welcome!" This might sound a bit silly in response, and yet, how often do we make someone else, someone different, feel welcome, really welcome? Today, Jesus' words to the disciples and to the church leaders is to welcome others and to know that those who welcome Jesus' followers welcome Jesus in return. As we share the gentle breezes of summer, let us feel the Spirit welcoming us even when we feel unworthy to be welcomed; and then let us go out to give cups of cold water and much more, as we give thanks to God for the blessing of so many others along our faith journey, as we welcome others in the name of Jesus Christ!
1. We are called to go out and to welcome; no, no, really welcome, no matter the timing or circumstance, all who are children of God.
Jeremiah 28:5-9; Matthew 10:40-42
A. To welcome, to really welcome, is to accept, and to do so much more to be truly hospitable and to help make a place for someone else.
B. To welcome, to really welcome, is to serve the needs of another.
C. To welcome, to really welcome others, others who are so different from us, is not easy.
2. You're welcome, no, no, really welcome; and you are invited to believe you are welcome.
Matthew 10:41
A. To know someone welcomes us, to know we are really welcomed, to know we are worthy of being welcomed, is an incredible gift.
B. Trust Jesus has made a place just for you.
i. Jesus welcomes you through mercy, through `compassion on one's enemies.'
ii. Jesus out of unconditional love and grace makes a place for you even when you think you are not worthy.
3. "Thank you." "You're welcome." When someone gives us gratitude, we say, `You're welcome,' `It is our pleasure.' Let us feel the gentle breezes of summer and the breath of God, as we take pleasure in welcoming others, and as we trust it is God's pleasure, no matter the timing or circumstance, at each and every moment, today, and for all eternity, to welcome us, one and all!
Matthew 10:40-42

He Knows My Name
Walker
vs. 1

My life was in His hand

He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And hears me when I call
vs. 2
I have a Father
He calls me His own
He’ll never leave me
No matter where I go
(refrain twice)
And hears me when I call
Sharing our Needs and Joy with God in Prayer
Sharing Prayer with Sung Response
The Spirit Intercedes for Us
Olson
As God’s people, as we feel every gentle breeze, in The Spirit, let us trust anew in God’s grace, and let us pray for the needs of all God’s people.
… as we pray to you, Jesus,
The Spirit intercedes for us
With sighs too deep
For words to express
Oh oh oh …
All these things and whatever else you see we need, grant to us we pray, for into your hands, O Lord, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your mercy through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
Holy Communion will take place during our service. For those worshiping with us in person, we receive communion through intinction; that is, you will receive the bread, the host, then dip into the glass of choice, either a red wine in the chalice closest to the host, or in a light colored non-alcoholic grape juice. All are welcome.
We also offer gluten free and pre-packaged options. Please take these options before arriving at the host to receive a blessing.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name,
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us;
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,
Forever and ever. Amen.
Song During Holy Communion
In The Garden
Miles
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses
refrain:
And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share
As we tarry there
None other has ever known
He speaks
And the sound of His voice
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing
(refrain)
I’d stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling
But He bids me go thru the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling
(refrain)
The body and blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, strengthen you and keep you in his grace, this day, and on into life everlasting.
Amen.
Let us pray.
Pour out upon us the spirit of your love, O Lord, and unite the wills of those whom you have fed with one heavenly food; through Jesus Christ, The Lord of life. Amen.
The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace, as you feel the gentle breeze of The Spirit and God’s saving grace. In the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Let us go in the peace of Christ, celebrating the love of God, together serving The Lord of life.
Thanks be to God!

Lord, I Lift Your Name On High
Founds
Lord I lift Your name on high
Lord I love to sing Your praises
I’m so glad You’re in my life
I’m so glad You came to save us
You came from heaven to earth
To show the way
From the earth to the cross
My debt to pay
From the cross to the grave
From the grave to the sky
Lord I lift Your name on high
(repeat entire song)
