Anticipate. We are taught early in life: “try to anticipate.” A puzzle, a story line, a game—we are encouraged to anticipate what happens next. But anticipating is far different from assuming or presuming.

In Luke 14:1, 7–14, Jesus speaks directly to our tendency to presume: presume our place, presume how God does things, presume that we are entitled. Instead, we are invited to take a deep, fresh breath and presume only this—that our place is assured thanks to the saving, ever-present power and grace of Jesus Christ.

Rainbow Time During Worship

Children are invited to participate in Rainbow Time during the worship service — our special time for Bible heroes, storytelling, and coloring. Kids will be dismissed following the children’s sermon and will return after the message to rejoin their families for prayers and communion.
