The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting, “Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven.”
— Matthew 21:9

Some things can change so quickly: People shouting "Hosanna" to "crucify;" You and I from wanting to be so faithful, from wanting to make God and neighbors first, to making mistakes, getting confused, not following through. One minute we can be seen praising God, and the next we might be heard questioning or doubting or struggling as we wonder what good faith and our God really are.

The world often makes us painfully aware how quickly things are ever changing. What used to be stable; is not. What used to be counted on; cannot be. What used to be absolutely sure; is now questioned. What used to be trusted; is no longer.

Holy Week, this week reminds us things can change quickly in our spiritual walk as well. Our loyalty can be Peter-like, yet grace changes us because God's love never changes.

Let us celebrate and trust God changes everything: in a Holy Week's time, in a 3-day period, on the cross, in everything finished so everything can now begin anew, in the twinkling of an eye, in every split-Holy Spirit-second, thanks to grace alone.

When you think you have changed so many times that there is no way God can count on you, count on God to be loyal-like, loyal like nothing else, like no one else.

Let God change you this week! Let grace change you again this week! Grace never changes so that indeed God can change the world, so that God can change you and me!

Let us pray: Lord, I do not always lift up your name, my heart is not always full of praise, I often fall short, and I often cannot be counted on. Faithful God, I want you to change my life and my heart in a split-Holy Spirit-second. Keep me faithful this week by your grace, so I see all that you finish, all that you now begin, as you change me and the world. In the name of the Son of David, I am changed and I shout Hosanna, as I pray. Amen.
