Lent Day 32 – Lenten Devotion – Thursday, March 30, 2026
Great is Thy Faithfulness
Mote
Great is thy faithfulness O God my Father
There is no shadow of turning with thee
Thou changest not thy compassions they fail not
As thou hast been thou forever wilt be.
Great is thy faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness
Morning by morning
New mercies I see
All I have needed
Thy hand hath provided
Great is thy faithfulness
Lord unto me
“Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed, you would see the glory of God?””
Does it take certain things to catch your eye, to quench your thirst? Like, winning the lottery, getting a promotion, having a loved one beat a diagnosis, having a broken relationship reconciled, peace on earth?
Oh, how we long for, thirst for, every moment of peace on earth, every word of good news, hope, for miracles of any and every size.
The Lord invites us to call out for every miracle. Who else would we call on? Who else could help us see the glory of God? Who else could reveal to us the great faithfulness of our God, morning by morning? Who else can grant the miracle to believe, to see the glory of God?
What was the last miracle to catch your eye, to quench your thirst? We can often feel empty. Where and how are you being filled? The smile of a friend? The smile of a stranger? The "I am sorry" of a loved one? The job and career you have as of today to support you with daily bread? The positive spirit and faith of a friend or loved one, even in the midst of their own health crisis? Each good day? The peace that passes all our understanding in Christ?
"All I have needed, thy hand hath provided" - believe and see the glory of God! Looking for seven more simple powerful, renewing words today, try these: Great is thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
Let us pray: Lord, how I long for, and need, and love your every miracle. I just do not always acknowledge your daily faithfulness. You are so faithful, and yet, I easily thirst for more. The miracle of salvation granted long ago on the cross is soon to be celebrated again, and yet, with your faithfulness, I believe and see your glory every day. In your name, I praise your every miracle. Amen.
