Jesus My Lord

Fischer

Have you seen Jesus my Lord
He's here in plain view
Take a look open your eyes
He'll show it to you

Have you ever looked at the cross
With a man hangin' in pain
And the look of love in his eyes
Then I say
You've seen Jesus my Lord

Jesus said, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
— John 9:5

An old favorite story of mine:

A man was dying. He had built for himself and his family a fine business. As his death was approaching, he called his three sons together. He told them, rather than splitting up the business, he was going to give the business to the one son who best completed a simple task. The task would require ingenuity, creativity, and stewardship.

The man gave each son a quarter, and told them the business would be given to the one who could fill his bedroom with something top to bottom, corner to corner.

One son went down to the lumberyard, and bought all the sawdust, he could buy for a quarter. He came into his father's room, and for a moment in time, the room was covered, top to bottom, corner to corner, with saw dust. The dust soon settled.

The second son went to the local fabric store, and bought all the feathers he could buy for a quarter. He came into his father's room, and for a moment in time, the room was covered, top to bottom, corner to corner, with the feathers.  The feathers soon settled.

The third son went down to the "Five and Dime" store. He came into his father's room and placed a dime on the bed stand next to his father. He pulled out one candle and one match. The candle filled the room, top to bottom and corner and corner, with light.

The world today, each of us every day, are longing for as much light as possible, top to bottom, corner to corner in our lives and in our hearts.

Have you seen Jesus, my Lord? The Light of the world is going nowhere! He came to give sight to a blind man. He came to fill your life, your heart, top to bottom, corner to corner, with grace, light and new life! He is here is plain view!

Let us pray: Lord, I try to fill my life with all kinds of things; they eventually settle, and do not hold up. When I feel alone and forsaken, worried and anxious, for myself and for my loved ones, when I need hope and strength in ways I have never known before, your Light and your power and your presence break in, to renew me, to fill my life and my heart. You are here, in plain view. In your name, and by your Light, I pray. Amen.
