White As Snow

White as snow
White as snow
Though my sins were as scarlet
Lord I know
Lord I know
That I'm clean and forgiven
Through the power of Your blood
Through the wonder of Your love
Through faith in You I know that I can be
White as snow
“Jesus answered him, “Very truly, I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above.””
The snow this winter at times has tried to cover things with a fresh blanket. Though we long for spring; the trees and landscape can be quite beautiful after a snowfall. When things get dirty during the winter, we like it when even a little snow comes and freshens things up. We see the snow, and we often say, `The fresh snow cleans things up.' Not really, it just looks that way.
As we continue to reflect on Paradise this week, in Holy Baptism we are born from above, we are born again, we are born anew, in God's water and Word. God in Christ invites us to trust though our sins were as scarlet, Paradise is given, we are clean and forgiven.
Though we know the dirt that has been, and though we might wonder if even grace can make it all clean, Paradise is given. In the power and renewal of grace alone, Paradise is given; we are born from above to see the kingdom of God, to see what God sees: `Through the power of his blood and the wonder of his love, through faith we trust, believe and know, we are what God sees, we are white as snow.'
Let us pray: Lord, though my sins are as scarlet, though at times I think nothing can make me fresh and new, in your grace, Lord, I know, I am fresh and new, I am clean and forgiven. Give me the simple, renewing power of your grace in these seven words: I am with you today, in Paradise. In the power of your love, I trust I am born from above, to see what you see, I am white as snow, to see the kingdom of God, to see Paradise. Amen.
