“Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. ”
How do you do with trust? When you hear something, something said by someone you trust, someone who has never let you down, someone who has always been there for you, someone who always has your best interest in their heart; are you able to believe that person right away or do you still have doubt?
Paradise for Abram was made known in trusting God. Paradise was in no questions asked, because he trusted the Answer. Paradise was with no worries, because he trusted the Provider. Paradise was with no doubts, because he trusted the Faithful One.
Like Abram who became Abraham, Paradise for us includes trusting we have been given a new name, that we are forgiven completely, that we have been blessed to be a blessing here and now, that we can go anew with courage wherever God is pointing us, that the One who is so good will never let us down, that God is so good, all the time!
Let us pray: Lord, I am sorry the sins I need forgiven the most are doubt and question. Forgive me again today for not trusting you. Give me faith like Abraham, to go as you tell me, to trust you are faithful. I praise you for forgiving me, for blessing me, for loving me, for being so good all the time. Thank you for always being there for me, for being my source of power and renewal, and for gracing me with new life. In your name and faithful goodness I pray. Amen.
