Litany Trusting God’s Faithfulness & Grace In Every Gentle Breeze
BASED ON PSALM 49
Today as we feel the gentle breeze of the Spirit, blessed be the name of The Lord; the One who blesses us and graces us, the One who satisfies our every hunger; so we worship in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen. Hear this everyone; all who inhabit the earth; those low and high, those rich and poor. I will speak your wisdom and praise. I am satisfied, for my heart meditates on the Lord!
People of God: We need only fear those troubling times when we crave abundance apart from the Lord. Let us take a moment of silence to confess our sins and those times when we have hungered for riches other than the blessings of our Lord.

Friends in Christ, be filled and satisfied by the gentle breeze of God’s grace in these words: Jesus saves; Jesus forgives you all your sins. Truly there is no ransom we can pay for our life. Fill up; live forever on God’s grace. Come, let us eat; the feast is spread!

The fools of this life perish, leaving their wealth to others. Their selfish cravings are their graves forever. The Lord leads us to the light, to the riches only he can provide. God’s grace satisfies my every need; and still, I hunger for more of Jesus in my life!
Children of God: If earthly possessions satisfy us, we wander like sheep. Let us feast on hope and grace! In the midst of wanting even more, God gives us more than we dreamed. The baskets of leftovers overflow! Come, let us eat! Come, let us drink! Starve no longer! Your cravings are forever satisfied!

Loving God, today we thank you for feeding us with your countless blessings, and yet, we still hunger for more of you in our life; to make you and our neighbors first in new ways. As we hear again the feeding of the five thousand, call us once again to your table. By your Spirit, let us feel the gentle breeze of your saving grace, breathe on us anew, fill us with all we really need, and we will forever praise you for your eternal hunger to feed us and to save us. As we share gentle breezes of The Spirit this summer, let us share our faith and speak boldly of all we believe, trusting the living breath of The Spirit and God’s saving grace.

I declare that your steadfast love is established forever; your faithfulness is as firm as the heavens. How Hungry Are You, For Every Gentle Breeze?
ISAIAH 55:1-5; ROMANS 9:1-5; MATTHEW 14:13-21
Unfortunately, it is no secret there are many people in our world today who are hungry. Efforts are made to feed them, and yet, still so many go hungry. What can we do? What can each of us do? Questions like these can inspire us and encourage us to do what we can, and to find hope even in what we cannot do. There are still others, including many of us, who are also hungry, spiritually hungry. Sometimes we know it, and sometimes our hunger sneaks up on us; suddenly we feel empty. How hungry are you? What is your pneuma starving for? Are you able to satisfy it? Do you know Who can? As we share the story of Jesus feeding the 5000, we are reminded just how big of a hunger Jesus can satisfy. God in Jesus comes to us, and breathes on us. Feel the gentle breeze of God’s grace, eat and be filled in ways you never imagined! Trust anew, the One who hungers for us first, has a hunger to feed us, one and all! Feast on this hope and truth: Daily Bread is here, giving us food for the very depths of our souls!
1. How hungry are you? What kinds of hunger do you want Jesus to satisfy for you? How is Jesus calling us to feed those in need?
A. Unfortunately, many people in the world are literally starving - starving for food and for the bread of life. They need food now. Others need Jesus now. Jesus feeds us to go out and feed others.
Isaiah 55:1; Matthew 14:15-16
B. Many others in the world are getting some food, but they are undernourished, and they need more nutrients. Some of us feed on the Lord as we wish, only to find out later what we have been missing.
Matthew 14:17-19
C. Many people these days are trying to diet, to cut back. And yet they, too, need to eat the right food. Our lives are hungering for the right food to feed our spirits. Romans 9:5
D. Some people have a need to eat all the time. For some it is a life condition, and for others, it is only a feeling. When we feel weak or empty, we can turn to feast on the Lord of life.

E. Some of us have a habit of eating on the run. We have to fit everything else in, or we have too much to fit in, or we are afraid we might miss something. Experts tell us to take our time, to eat, and relax and really digest what we take in - this is so true when we eat what only the Lord can provide.

F. Some people get bored with eating the same old thing, and so they are looking for something different to wet their appetites. Jesus has an incredible variety of entrees and goodies to feed us and fill us like nothing else.

G. Do you ever have specific cravings? Only one thing will satisfy it? Jesus can provide for us whatever it is we are hungry for!
Romans 9:1
H. Many people enjoy eating. Sadly, not enough people fully enjoy eating or activities around eating. The Lord invites us to feast on his Word and promises, to feast at his table, to share what he offers to you and all people, and to find joy in having your hunger satisfied, and then to come back and fill up on his blessings again and again.
2. Whatever you and your pneuma are hungry for, whatever your spirit needs or is craving, whatever you are looking for to fill you or to wet your appetite; feel the gentle breeze filling you with God’s grace! The Lord will forever take what he has and what he has already given to you, and he will take it again and give thanks and bless it, and give it to you to fill you, to sustain you, and to satisfy you, to the depth of your soul!

Holy Communion will take place during our service. For those worshiping with us in person, we receive communion through intinction; that is, you will receive the bread, the host, then dip into the glass of choice, either a red wine in the chalice closest to the host, or in a light colored non-alcoholic grape juice. All are welcome.
We also offer gluten free and pre-packaged options. Please take these options before arriving at the host to receive a blessing.
