Sunday, May 24, 2026 – Pentecost Sunday

  • Lord of Life Lutheran Church 16200 Dodd Lane Lakeville, MN, 55044 United States (map)

Theme for the Day: Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ
Season Theme Begins: Sharing Gentle Breezes In The Grace Of Jesus Christ
Readings: John 20:19-23

On this Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit, poured out upon the Church with power, promise, and presence. As Scripture reminds us, the Spirit once came like a rushing wind, filling the disciples with courage, faith, and new life.

Yet the Spirit is not only found in the dramatic moments. The Holy Spirit continues to move among us each and every day, often like a gentle, refreshing breeze. Quietly. Steadily. Faithfully. Bringing peace where there is fear, hope where there is uncertainty, and life where there is weariness.

In John 20, the Risen Jesus breathes on the disciples and says, “Receive the Holy Spirit.” In that moment, we are reminded that God’s Spirit is not distant. The Spirit is near. The Spirit is alive. The Spirit is moving right here in our midst.

As we begin our summer theme and observe Memorial Day Weekend, we also pause to give thanks, to remember, and to trust that God’s presence continues to guide, comfort, and renew us.
