I Have Decided to Follow Jesus

Spiritual, Assam, Reynolds

I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
I have decided to follow Jesus
No turning back
No turning back

“Why should it be said among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’” Then the Lord became jealous for his land, and had pity on his people.
— Joel 2:17b-18

Turning points. Do you have some in your life?

Long ago, God used the prophet Joel to announce a turning point. Where people had been involved in one way of living, God used Joel to announce a change, a turning point. In doing so, God announces a turning point in God's way of doing things. God makes clear, destruction is on the horizon. Joel asks God to consider again his grace and mercy. God has pity and showers the people with grace and hope.

Turning points. Do you believe God is at the center of your turning points? Do you know, God in sending Jesus to die and rise creates the biggest turning point of all, to lead us all through God's pity, to grace, hope, new direction, no turning back?

May The Holy Spirit reveal a new turning point this Lenten season, as we are blessed and saved in the simple power and renewing grace of these seven words: "Let us follow Jesus, no turning back!"

Let us pray: Lord, by your grace, grant my spiritual life and my salvation the turning points I need most. Use your power to turn me to you again. Strengthen me by your Spirit so I never look back. May I forever honor you and glorify you, for your grace has turned my soul from certain destruction to certain hope and promise. I turn to you, renewed, and I never turn back, as I pray. Amen.
