BASED ON PSALM 25
Today we celebrate the Holy Spirit is so welcome here, gathering us in, affirming new beginnings in one and all, as we confirm our faith and God’s saving grace, so we worship in the name of The Father, and of The Son, and of The Holy Spirit.
Amen. The Lord walks paths of steadfast love and faithfulness. He leads the humble in what is right. The Lord will not remember our sins. He remembers us according to his grace and mercy.
People of God: Jesus knows our transgressions; our sins are ever before him. Against Jesus alone have we sinned, yet, The Lord is mindful of his steadfast love. Let us take a moment of silence to confess our sins and those times we fail to confirm all God is.

Friends in Christ: The Word confirmed through God’s grace for daily living, for our affirmed and transformed lives is this: Jesus saves; Jesus forgives you all your sins. Stating Our Faith in God
BASED ON REVELATION 21:5–7
God’s Son who was born in a manger, who went forward in obedience to make us all one through his death and resurrection; he will come again. While we wait for Jesus’ return, let us speak boldly of all we confirm and affirm and believe.
God who sits upon the throne says, “Behold, I make all things new. Write these words for they are trustworthy and true. It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the fountain the water of life without payment. They who conquer shall have their heritage, and I will be their God, and they will be my children.” Amen.

Confirmed, Affirmed, Anew, Each & Every Day!
PHILIPPIANS 2:1-13; MATTHEW 21:23-32
Do you like riddles and brain teasers? Do you like to try and figure them out for yourself, or would you rather just know the answer? Life is filled with challenging questions. Sometimes the answers are fairly clear; at other times, the answers are not so clear. Sometimes, once we know the answer, trusting the answer, and then doing something about it requires us to be determined and obedient and wise. The chief priests and the elders had a riddle for Jesus: `By whose authority are you doing these things?' Jesus had his own brain teaser: `Where did the baptism of John come from, God or humanity?' Some of the questions that riddle our spiritual journey are these: `What is the number one authority in our life?' And `Do we trust the power of God in our baptism?' Just because we follow Jesus, we are not promised easy or clear answers to all of life's questions. When you cannot figure it all out by yourself, stand firm anew each day, in the One who is the Answer, the One who provides wisdom, real wisdom, for Jesus blesses you every day, with signs of love in wisdom and grace!
1. Many people in society try to claim positions of authority and wisdom.
Philippians 2:3-5; Matthew 21:24-27
A. Who do you see claiming authority and wisdom?
B. Authority is also given. Who do you give authority?
C. It is a real brain teaser: We know, yet, we do not listen or follow. Wisdom, real wisdom every day in Christ, is grace!
D. It is a real brain teaser, though we do not always surrender to Jesus’ authority and wisdom, Jesus still calls us, loves us, makes us new! Believing, believing in grace, is a sign of love, is grace; this is real wisdom!
2. Do those around you know what authority you answer to, the wisdom, the grace, that you call on every day?

A. They might think they know. You might think they know. This is old wisdom; this is not very wise!

3. It is a real brain teaser that Jesus knows who we are, and who we too often look to as
authorities and wisdom in our lives, and he still saves us!

A. This wisdom is so new to us, being made new, being blessed anew, is all so foreign to us, beyond what we know, giving us love and life and hope and grace every day!
B. We may at times wonder why God obediently acts on our behalf. Trust it does not take that much to believe anew the power of Jesus in our life every day … this is
real wisdom!
C. We may have questions or doubts. We may find it impossible to understand Jesus and his authority, and yet our wisdom is revealed as we surrender to Wisdom, The One who is the Answer, The One who blesses us with every sign of love in real wisdom and grace, each and every day!

Being a Christian is trusting in God and having faith in God even when you are uncertain or scared. … Having a relationship with God could look like reading your bible, spending time with God by praying and/or by how you choose to spend your time; like spreading the gospel or talking to God about something before an important event. Basically, it is just inviting God into your life. For me, being a follower of Christ is also being kind to others, showing compassion, empathy for others, and helping those in need. … If you have ever heard the phrase “Christ Like” it means to be kind, honest and to act like how Jesus would want you to. Being a follower of Christ means to be kind, respectful, honest, caring, helpful, and putting others before yourself.

… Being a Christian is a personal choice I make every day because of how Jesus lived His life and how He changed mine. … Following Jesus, gives my life a sense of purpose because I know I am trying to spread a little bit of His light in the world. About half way through 8th grade, I became more interested in and more serious about my relationship with God. I wanted to learn more and to have a relationship with God. Being a follower of Christ means so much to me. Being a Christian matters to me because we were called to be disciples, and to use our gifts and the fruit God has given us. Living life with Jesus in it matters to me; I know when I sin I have someone who will forgive me every time, and when I feel unprepared, I have someone who will supply all my needs and when I am suffering, I have someone who will always be there for me and walk with me. Being a Christian also matters to me because Jesus died on the cross for our sins which means we have free salvation. Being a Christian isn’t just believing in Jesus. It is believing Jesus will help with whatever is going on in life. Believing that Jesus is helping you along the way. And yes, in your life there will be times of doubt, there will be times where you put other things before Christ. And what does He do? He waits. He waits patiently for you to come crawling back when you realize you messed up. Those are the times, you realize He will always be there for you. For me, I often come to Him with sports; injuries, bad game, good game, whatever it is, God helps. … We make the most of our faith when we are living: being kind, being thankful, just overall being a better you. That is also what I think being a Christian is, being a better person. … Just because you can’t see God helping you, doesn’t mean He isn’t there. Sometimes He helps you in ways you don’t notice right away.

Jesus' love means a lot to me because I know l do not have to be perfect. Everyone makes mistakes, but Jesus forgives us and gives us another chance. This helps me try to be a better person every day. I want to treat others with kindness, respect, and care, just like Jesus taught. My faith is also important because it gives me hope. When l am worried, stressed, or unsure about something, l can pray and trust that God is with me. Even if l do not know what will happen, I believe God has a plan for me and will help guide me through life. … Jesus saving me means that I do not have to earn God's love. Jesus died and rose again so that people could have forgiveness and a relationship with God. Knowing this makes me feel thankful and gives me confidence in my faith.

I know that God is always with me even through the hard times. I know that God is always there to talk to me and listen to me at any point of my life. I feel so much joy going to church, being so, welcomed and I truly feel God’s presence. Times I have felt the closest to God are when I am dancing, I love expressing myself through dance and I feel God’s presence on and off the dance floor, but especially when I am backstage and about to go on stage. … I want to stay connected to God by praying to him, reading my bible, and how I want to think about God when connecting with people;; like forgiving people, helping people, and viewing and accepting and treating people as God would. … I believe, my faith journey has made me realize that no matter what, the good, or the bad, God has a bigger plan for me than I know.
