Join us for a special evening of celebration and fellowship at our Confirmation Banquet on September 22, 2024. This event serves as both a rehearsal and a joyful gathering in anticipation of Confirmation Sunday, which will take place the following week.

As we prepare to celebrate the Confirmation of our young members, we invite all 10th grade confirmands and their families to come together for a delightful dinner. Dinner will be brought in, allowing everyone to enjoy a meal together in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The Confirmation Banquet is not only an opportunity to share a meal but also a time for our confirmands to rehearse and become familiar with the order of service and the sanctuary. It's a chance for them to feel comfortable and confident as they prepare to affirm their faith on Confirmation Sunday, September 29th, 2024.

We encourage all 10th grade confirmands and their families to attend this special event. It's a wonderful way to connect with one another, celebrate the journey of faith, and build a sense of community within our church family.

Good Friday, March 29 – “Saved In Grace Alone!”

Join us on Good Friday, March 29th, at 7 p.m. for a poignant worship service centered around the theme "Saved In Grace Alone!" as we observe this solemn day in Holy Week. We will reflect on the profound message of John 18:1-19:42.

In this traditional service, we will remember Jesus' crucifixion through readings, prayers, and moments of silence. As we return to The One who is gracious and merciful, with all our hearts, we receive hope and assurance, thanks to God’s faithfulness. Together, we 'watch The Lamb,' experiencing new life and salvation anew in grace alone!

This moving service will guide us through the seven last words of Christ, incorporating readings, candlelight, special music, prayer, and moments of reflection. It's an opportunity to draw closer to the heart of Christ and meditate on the immense love and sacrifice demonstrated on the cross.

Maundy Thursday, March 28 – “Loved In Grace Alone!”

Join us on Maundy Thursday, March 28th, at 7 p.m. for a special worship service centered around the theme "Loved In Grace Alone!" as we observe this sacred day in Holy Week. We will reflect on the profound message of John 13:1-17, 31b-35.

In this passage, Jesus shares the last supper with His disciples, washes their feet, and gives them a new commandment: 'love one another as I have loved you.' As we return to The One who is gracious and merciful, with all our hearts, we are called to love one another as we are first loved by The One who blesses us, experiencing new life and salvation anew in grace alone!

This service will also include the first communion of this year's first communion students. They will receive their first communion during tonight's service, just as Jesus washed the feet of his disciples in the reading of tonight's gospel, symbolizing humility, service, and the sacrificial love of Christ.

All are welcome to join us as we gather to commemorate this significant moment in the life of Jesus and His disciples, experiencing the boundless love and grace of our Savior.

Exploring My Faith

Attention all 9th graders! Join us for an enriching Confirmation Class on March 17th, where we will delve into the deeply personal topic of "My Faith."

This class will serve as the final session of the year for our 9th Grade Confirmation students. It's a significant step in their journey as they approach their Affirmation of Baptism and Confirmation on September 29, 2024.

During this session, we will explore the concept of faith on a personal level. What does faith mean to you? How has your faith journey shaped your beliefs and values? These are the questions we'll be discussing and reflecting upon.

Lunch will be provided, so come prepared for thoughtful discussion and nourishing food. Additionally, students will be introduced to their final confirmation project during this class. This project will involve selecting topics to discuss in their final paper—a meaningful opportunity to articulate their beliefs and experiences.

As we conclude this year's Confirmation classes, we look forward to celebrating the Affirmation of Baptism and Confirmation with our 9th Grade students in September. Communion Instruction (First Communion) Class

Join us on Saturday, March 2nd, as we embark on a journey of discovery into the sacred sacrament of Holy Communion. This special class is tailored for children in 4th grade and older who have not yet participated in a formal "Communion" or "First Communion" program.

Class Agenda:

  • 10:00 a.m. - Registration and gathering with parents

  • 10:00-10:30 a.m. - Devotions, heartfelt conversations, and important details shared with parents

  • 10:30 a.m. - Parents are warmly invited to depart

  • 10:30-12:00 noon - Engaging class time featuring Bible study, reflective storytelling, and comprehensive instruction. Delve into questions like: What is Communion? Who initiated it? Why do we partake in it? How is Jesus present in this sacred act? Discover the essence of sharing communion and more!

  • 12:00-12:30 p.m. - Exciting scavenger hunt, review session, and further exploration

Special Recognition:
Children who participate in this enlightening class will be honored during our Maundy Thursday service on March 28th at 7 p.m. Each child will receive a beautiful flower, a certificate commemorating their journey, and a cherished Bible. During the service, families will joyfully share communion together, as is our tradition at Lord of Life. For those unable to attend on Maundy Thursday, Bibles and certificates will be lovingly prepared and await them upon their return to our congregation, ensuring they can partake in communion in this newfound way.

Join us on February 14th at 7:00pm for a special Ash Wednesday service as we kick off the Lenten season under the theme "Alive & Saved Anew, In Grace Alone!" The service will feature a reading from Matthew 6:1-6, 16-21, reminding us that where our treasure is, there our heart will be also — and in grace alone, we find God's heart.

Join us for a deep dive into the art of prayer. Prayer is a powerful way to connect with God, seek guidance, and find comfort in times of need. During this class, we will explore various forms of prayer, learn about the Lord's Prayer, and discuss how prayer can enrich our faith and daily lives.

Lunch will be provided, so come with an appetite for both delicious food and spiritual nourishment. This class is an excellent opportunity to grow in your understanding of prayer and its role in your relationship with God.

Dinner Delights: We'll kick off the evening with a delicious dinner that's sure to satisfy your taste buds. Good food and great conversations are the perfect recipe for connecting with old friends and making new ones.

Engaging Activities: Life Nite is all about having a blast! Get ready to participate in a range of activities that promise non-stop fun. From games that challenge your teamwork to creative challenges that ignite your imagination, there's something for everyone.

Meaningful Conversations: We believe that sharing our thoughts and experiences is a vital part of growing in faith. At Life Nite, we'll gather in small groups for some heartwarming conversations that allow us to connect on a deeper level and explore our faith journey together.
