Oh, How He Loves You and Me

Kaiser

Oh how He loves you and me
Oh how He loves you and me
He gave His life
What more could He give
Oh how He loves you
Oh how He loves me
Oh how He loves you and me

After Jesus was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word that Jesus had spoken.
— John 2:22

"I can't believe I forgot to go!" "I should have gone to that instead." "I didn't think it would be that good." "It sounds like I really missed out." "By the time I remembered, it was too late."

We have so much to remember these days. It is little wonder we forget things from time to time. As we continue our Lenten journey, The One who loves you and me, beckons us to look back as we go forward in the truth of God's grace alone.

The disciples and many others remembered only after he was raised from the dead much of what Jesus taught and promised. Sadly, they did not value it all at first. Once they remembered it all, it was almost too late.

The truth of God's love in Jesus Christ, graces us not to forget or to overlook all Jesus makes clear, "Oh, how he loves you and me!" Why miss out again? Why wait? Let us not risk forgetting again! Let us not wait, let us forever remember, let us believe right now all Jesus continues to speak, and let us boldly sing this truth in God's grace alone: "He gave his life that we might live!"

Let us pray: Jesus, I confess I often forget to remember, to trust, to hold fast to how you love me and all you have given that I might live. By your Holy Spirit, I will remember forever, I will never forget, I trust it is never too late, I will never miss out, I remember you have been raised from the dead, I remember the words you have spoken. In the truth of your grace alone, I pray. Amen.
