Freely, Freely
Owens
vs.1
God forgave my sin in Jesus' name
I've been born again in Jesus' name
And in Jesus' name I come to you
To share his love as he told me to
refrain:
He said
Freely freely you have received
Freely freely give
Go in my name and because you believe
Others will know that I live
Have you ever seen someone, and thought you knew them? Upon a closer look; that is, as you get closer, you see it is not who you thought it was.
As people come closer and closer to you, do they see flesh or Spirit?
As Jesus comes closer and closer to you, does he see flesh and human, or divine and Spirit?
As you see Jesus coming closer and closer to you, do you see flesh or Spirit?
Peter was right there with Jesus who had come to him, and still Peter did not see very clearly the divine, the Spirit, The Christ!
When you mistake flesh for Spirit, trust in God's grace alone, confess you have mistaken human for divine. When you need Him most, see The Spirit, see God's grace in Christ alone coming closer and closer to you, and know that you live!
Let us pray: Jesus, today I confess I too often have rebuked You. I am far more about the human and the flesh, than the divine and the Spirit. I cannot be about both sides. By your grace alone, come closer and closer to me, and freely, freely take away the human and the flesh, and I will go in Your name and in the divine and in the Spirit, and others will know that You live. In your grace, I come closer to you than ever before as I pray. Amen.
