Easter Sunday Devotion – The Resurrection of Our Lord – March 31, 2024

A most holy and blessed Easter morning to each of you who believe and proclaim, Christ is risen! Christ is risen, indeed! Alleluia! Today's devotion is below.

I pray your Easter, your day, and your life today and every day are blessed and surrounded and filled with the hope and grace alive and anew in The Risen Christ!

Today's devotion brings to an end our daily devotions shared throughout our Lenten journey. Thanks be to God for The Spirit in God's grace alone that lives and rises each day in each of us, to return to the Lord our God with all our heart! Indeed, in the Risen Christ, God's grace keeps breaking into our lives, proclaiming and building us up in faith to believe and to be alive and anew in The Risen Christ alone!

While the daily devotions come to an end today, keep watching your email for updates and reminders concerning the mission and ministry we share as God's people at Lord of Life!

May God bless each of you and your loved ones, these Great Fifty Days of Easter, as the grace of God raises you up, to be alive and anew in living grace, for Christ is risen, Christ is risen indeed! Alleluia!

Jesus Christ is Risen Today

Arnold

Jesus Christ is ris'n today
Alleluia
Our triumphant holy day
Alleluia
Who did once upon the cross
Alleluia
Suffer to redeem our loss
Alleluia

Hymns of praise then let us sing
Alleluia
Unto Christ our Heav'nly king
Alleluia
Who endured the cross and grave
Alleluia
Sinners to redeem and save
Alleluia

But the pains which he endured
Alleluia
Our salvation have procured
Alleluia
Now above the sky he's king
Alleluia
Where the angels ever sing
Alleluia

Then the other disciple, who reached the tomb first, also went in, and he saw
and believed; for as yet they did not understand the scripture, that he must rise from the dead. Then the disciples returned to their homes. But Mary stood weeping outside the tomb. As she wept, she bent over to look into the tomb; and she saw two angels in white, sitting where the body of Jesus had been lying, one at the head and the other at the feet. They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “They have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have laid him.” When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing there, but she did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” Supposing him to be the gardener, she said to him, “Sir, if you have carried him away, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to him in Hebrew, “Rabbouni!” (which means Teacher).
— John 20:8-15

As we celebrate today The Resurrection of Our Lord, we are invited to proclaim and to believe, to trust we are resurrected, too, raised to be alive and anew, in all the treasured blessings alive in the grace of The Risen Christ!

We are raised to be alive and anew, in all we search for and find in The Risen Christ!
We are raised to be alive and anew, as we hear our name spoken by The Risen Christ!
We are raised to be alive and anew, in the forgiveness of The Risen Christ!
We are raised to be alive and anew, in a new day, a new beginning in The Risen Christ!
We are raised to be alive and anew, taking our place in the story of The Risen Christ!
We are raised to be alive and anew, in the truth of eternal life in The Risen Christ!
We are raised to be alive and anew, in the peace of The Risen Christ!
We are raised to be alive and anew, in the hope of The Risen Christ!
We are raised to be alive and anew, in the faithfulness of The Risen Christ!
We are raised to be alive and anew, in the grace of The Risen Christ!

Friends, if the glory of Easter is limited to the one-time event of the resurrection of Christ, then the hope provided, in the empty tomb, is what is empty.

If the glory and hope and grace of Easter do not give us life today, do not raise us up to be alive and anew in new ways today, then the life provided, in the empty tomb, is what is empty.

Thanks be to the living God, to the living power of God, to the living miracles of God, to the Easter grace and the every day grace of God, for the tomb is all that is empty, to really fill us, to really raise us up to be alive and anew in the living grace of The Risen Christ!

Be alive, anew, resurrected, raised to live, in the living grace of The Risen Christ! For Christ is risen! Christ is risen, indeed! Alleluia!

Let us pray: Risen Christ, as you are raised to new life in the glory of Easter, raise me up every day to live in your grace alone. Raise me up, call me by name, open my spirit to all I am still searching for: to be alive and anew in your forgiveness, your hope, your truth, your peace, your power, your faithfulness, and your living grace in The Risen Christ. In the glory of Easter, I will live each day on into eternity, trusting you and telling others, only the tomb is empty; we are forever filled and alive and anew. In The Risen Christ, I pray. Amen.
