Jesus My Lord

Fischer

Have you seen Jesus my Lord
He's here in plain view
Take a look open your eyes
He'll show it to you

Have you ever looked at the cross
With a man hangin' in pain
And the look of love in his eyes
Then I say
You've seen Jesus my Lord

Now among those who went up to worship at the festival were some Greeks. They came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and said to him, “Sir, we wish to see Jesus.” Philip went and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip told Jesus.
— John 12:20-22

Who do you know who knows someone? We probably all know people who know people of interest, popularity, influence, etc. For example, I know someone who grew up with and knows Josh Hartnett; I know someone who once had dinner with former President Gerald Ford; I know someone who managed the Met Center in its day, and knew many in The Minnesota North Stars organization; I know the doctor who was on The Twins' staff when Kirby Puckett was hit by that pitch under his eye; I know someone who has spent time with astronaut Neil Armstrong. Who do you know who knows someone? Who do you know?

People came to Philip, Philip went to Andrew, and the two of them went and told Jesus. Knowing someone who knows someone is good. Knowing "The Someone" yourself is better. Today, Lent, salvation, eternity, hope, truth, faith is knowing and seeing and hearing for yourself The Someone of broadest interest, widest popularity, greatest influence: Jesus, The Christ, The Savior, The Son of God!

May you see The Christ again today, may you always trust you know The Best Someone, and may God use you continuously to let others know that the people you know, now know someone who knows The Someone, as you help others see who they wish to see: Jesus!

Let us pray: Jesus, today I glorify your name for I have seen Jesus my Lord, You are here in plain view. I do not simply know someone who knows You, I know You, my Savior, my Lord. Use me to let others see and know Who I know. I praise Your name, for I know The Someone everyone wants to know. In your name and grace alone, I know You and I pray. Amen.
