“For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God.”
How do you react when other people do things for you? I thought so. We usually like making our own decisions. We usually do not like to be a bother. We usually like being in control; what is done, when it is done, how it is done. Doing things on our own; makes being alive and saved anew in grace alone, calling on the power in grace alone, very difficult.
Thankfully, the Holy Spirit continues to reveal to us what Peter discovered: the righteous suffered for the unrighteous. God sent Jesus to do what we could never do, what we could never do for ourselves, on our own, by ourselves. God sent Jesus to bring us to God's self, to hail King Jesus throughout eternity.
Let us pray: Jesus today I celebrate and I trust, something was done for me I could never do for myself by myself; I have been brought to you. Left on my own, I would never be able to come to you. Thank you that the decision to suffer for me, was not my decision. Thank you that as I glorify you and praise you for coming to suffer for me, you let me know the power I have in Christ, is given as a gift. Thank you for being in control of my salvation for all eternity. Bring me to live anew in grace alone again, I pray. Amen.
